The release date of OnePlus 5 is less than a week away and now we might just have gotten hold of the full specs sheet of the new phone. Courtesy of TecnoBlog, the new smartphone by the Chinese company definitely has a class of its own.
Although this is still just online news, we’re pretty sure the source is reliable as it corroborates with the previous rumors of the phone. OnePlus 5 will feature a large 5.5-inch Full HD display (1080p) and will have a slim, slick metal design that is surprisingly similar to the iPhone 7. The smartphone will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor chip and will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
The source also mentions the battery of OnePlus 5 as 3,300mAh. This contradicts with the leaks we previously received that mentioned the phone packing a monster 4000mAh battery. Furthermore, the report published by TecnoBlog mentions two variants of the smartphone: a 6GB RAM variant paired with 64GB of internal storage, and an 8GB RAM variant coupled with 128GB of internal storage.
On the photography front, OnePlus 5 already made it clear it was revolutionizing smartphone camera quality completely by collaborating with DxOMark. OnePlus co-founder Pete Lau posted an image on the Chinese social networking website of the picture quality and photography capabilities of OnePlus 5. The picture shared almost looks ‘DSLR-like’ quality and fans of the company are definitely in for a treat if the image is completely authentic.
Owing to the dual-camera setup at the back of the smartphone with a 20MP sensor and a f/2.6 aperture, and a 16MP with a f/1.7 aperture, the camera of OnePlus 5 may as well be up to DSLR standards.
Other specs revealed by TecnoBlogs’s leak include the smartphone will have an enhanced and improved Dash Charge technology that will allow the 3300mAh battery to charge from 0% to 92% in only an hour.
Unlike the other big competitors of OnePlus, namely Samsung and Apple, the company is definitely not shying away or keeping its latest device a secret. Only days before the release, the company has posted a video on Youtube (India) flaunting its excellent customer service. Titled ‘Promise of 5’, the video shows how OnePlus 5 users can easily search for the price of spare parts on their website, and have them delivered on their doorsteps in certain cities of India by the free pick and drop facility. All you have to do is call 1800 102 8411. Customers will also be able to make use of services like email, live chat and a direct call to a representative of the company.
The price of the smartphone has also been hinted and is mentioned in the report. Apparently the 6GB RAM variant of OnePlus 5 will have a price tag of US $479. The price of the 8GB RAM variant is still unknown.
To watch the official launch of OnePlus 5, head on to their website and you can catch the unveiling live, starting at 12 P.M. EST on June 20th.
