Tokyo Ghoul happens to be one of those anime that everyone recommends to a beginner who wants to get into the dark and gritty anime genre. And if you came here to find out the correct Tokyo Ghoul watch order after a friend recommended you to watch the show, then I’ll help you out with the information you need!

First off, the show is pretty dark and gruesome show unlike the shonen titles that most of us are familiar with. It’s technically a seinen anime show which means that it’s not meant to be watched by kids, but rather by teenagers. This should give you a pretty decent idea of what kind of a show Tokyo Ghoul actually is.

It is the story of Ken Kaneki who is a shy college student and an avid book reader. One day he comes in contact with Rize Kamishiro, who’s an avid book reader like himself, but their meeting completely changes the Ken Kaneki’s life.

The world they live in is quite cruel and merciless because along with the humans, there exists creatures known as “Ghoul.” These creatures look exactly like humans so they are very difficult to identify, but they can only survive on human flesh and can’t eat anything else.

Turns out, Ken gets thrust into the cruel and savage world of Ghouls after coming in contact with Rize who herself is one of these Ghouls. Now he is a hybrid – a half human/half ghoul – and he has to find a way to survive in both the world of humans and the world of ghouls!

The premise does sound interesting, right? So, let’s have a look at how to watch Tokyo Ghoul series in order so that you too can catch up on this amazing piece of story created by the amazing Sui Ishida.

How to Start Reading Tokyo Ghoul Manga?

It’s a pretty known fact that the Tokyo Ghoul anime didn’t exactly do justice to the manga. The anime took too many liberties with the story and it essentially rushed through things to come to a conclusion.

A lot of fans of the show have gone to read on the manga after being disappointed with the anime, and if you also feel the same way after watching the show, then I would recommend you to read the manga from the very beginning.

You could start the manga right after the events of the first or second season of the anime, but it is still better to begin at the beginning because there are some minor nuances that the show ignores.

All the characters are more fleshed out, the story develops at a proper pace, no plot points are rushed and it’s not just battle after battle. There’s more emphasis given on the lives of ghouls and other characters than just showing them fight each other.

If you want to start reading the manga from the mid-point, then you could pick up from chapter 61 since the first season covers chapters 1-60. But I highly recommend you to read it from the beginning because that’s the best way to experience the story!

    Conclusion

So, this was the complete guide to watch Tokyo Ghoul series in order. Unlike a couple of other anime franchises, this particular title is pretty straightforward and without any convoluted plot points or confusing timelines. So if you just watch it in the order of its release date, it will be perfect.

I hope that you liked reading this article and gained the information you were looking for. So, please share this Tokyo Ghoul watch order guide with your friends as well so that they too can join you in your binge-watching expedition!
