The successor to the popular Redmi 3S, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 is officially launched in India. The smartphone was launched on November 2016 in China, along with Redmi 4 Prime and it will officially go on sale on Amazon India as well as Mi Home in a few days.
The smartphone comes with a 5-inch (720×1280 pixels) LCD display with 2.5D curved glass, a metal unibody design and will also feature a fingerprint sensor on the rear. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, unlike the Snapdragon 430 processor on Redmi 3S. It sports a 13-megapixel camera with PDAF and dual-LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera as well.
The Redmi 4 will be available in 3 different variants – 2GB RAM, 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB internal memory respectively, and will be expandable up to 128GB with a microSD card. The smartphone will run on MIUI 8 based on special preview of Android Nougat.
Connectivity options on the Xiaomi Redmi 4 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB with OTG, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, and 3.5mm audio jack. The device will be powered by a 4100mAh battery to ensure that you have enough power to last the whole day even with heavy usage.
The smartphone is priced at Rs. 6,999 for the 2GB RAM/16GB memory variant; Rs. 8,999 for the 3GB RAM/32GB memory variant and Rs. 10,999 for the 4GB RAM/64GB memory variant.
The phone will be available from 9am IST on Saturday, May 20 at the newly launched Mi Home store in India. Interested buyers can pre-book the phone on Mi.com and then pick up the phone from Mi Home store on the launch day. This process will guarantee you a device without the fear of the stock running out.
The official release date of Xiaomi Redmi 4 is set for May 23 in India and will be available on Mi.com as well as Amazon India.
