It seems as if 2017 might be the year Nokia finally rebounds back into the smartphone industry, and with a bang! Just yesterday, the launch dates of the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 in India were announced, and let’s not forget the endless excitement we all had when Nokia announced its old school Nokia 3310 again this year. Today, however, it’s Nokia 9 that’s got our attention.
Nokia 9 has had its fair share of leaks in the past few weeks. Just a few days ago, the smartphone was spotted in the GeekBench listing that found that the handset packed an enormous 8GB RAM. Once again, the new Nokia smartphone was spotted, but this time at the AnTuTu Benchmark listing.
The AnTuTu listing of the Nokia 9 just gave us a lot more information than the GeekBench listing. The new information includes the smartphone being powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor chip, with an Adreno 540 processor as its GPU. The AnTuTu listing shows the Nokia 9 in the TA-1004 model and further tells us that the handset will run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat and will have Quick Charge 4.0 support.
As far as the design of the new smartphone is concerned, the AnTuTu listing tells us the Nokia 9 could feature a fingerprint sensor incorporated into the home button as with many latest smartphones. The Nokia 9 might also have a large 5.3 inch, bezel-less QHD display (1440 x 2560 pixel resolutions).
Nokia 9 will most likely feature a dual-camera setup at the back, according to the AnTuTu listing. The cameras will include two 13 MP cameras. No information of dual LED flash lights was made known; however as with other dual-camera setups, the feature is highly probable to exist. The AnTuTu listing does not clearly mention an actual dual-camera setup for the Nokia 9. Rather it mentions a pair of 13-MP cameras. According to previous leaks and rumors, this most probably indicates a dual-camera setup; however it’s equally possible that the other 13 MP camera is the front-facing, secondary camera. A secondary camera with such a high MP resolution is unlikely though, so we’d like to believe the former.
The listing also mentions Nokia 9 to sport a 4 GB RAM which is rather odd, seeing that the well-verified GeekBench Listing mentioned an 8GB of RAM. It is entirely possible that the Nokia 9 will have different storage and memory variants and perhaps the particular model, the TA-1004, listed on AnTuTu is the lesser, 4GB RAM variant. Nokia 9 will also include 64GB internal storage.
