We’ve all been desperately waiting for the global phenomenon of 4K TVs to reach our markets and it’s finally happening! We’ve had OLED TVs available before, but the South-Korean electronics giant, Samsung launched its 4K QLED TV series in India just last week and its receiving quite the buzz as we had expected. The QLED TVs are a level ahead of the OLEDs with Quantum Dot technology instead of the Organic light emitting diodes in the display, producing an overall better image quality.
For those who are unaware of the new 4K development, 4K is the next step after Full HD. Forget 1080p resolution now, 4K or Ultra HD offers a pixel resolution of 3840 x 2160 which is three times better than its predecessor. This gives us a far greater visual experience and a treat for the eye which is essential for any TV consumer.
The new QLED range includes five models that are up for sale in India currently – the Q7, Q7F, Q8, Q8C and Q9 which have screen sizes available in a range of 49 inches to 88 inches. The QLED series starts from the Rs. 3,14,900 to Rs. 24,99,900. The Q9 model is expected to launch in India soon too which is definitely the best model in the Samsung QLED series.
Features of the Samsung QLED TV Series
The QLED TVs are unique in the sense that they have an ‘Invisible Connection’. We’re all honestly bothered by the multiple wires and cables hanging out from under our TV screens, completely ruining the aesthetics of the device. QLED solves this problem by providing only a single transparent wire that connects to an external ‘One Connect Box’ which can be safely hidden anywhere out of the viewer’s vision.
The QLED TVs are also mounted smack against the wall with no gap in between. There is however an option of not mounting the TV to the wall at all by the ‘Studio’ and ‘Gravity’ stands provided by Samsung, but they have to be purchased separately.
The Samsung Q7, Q8, Q8C, and Q9 will be available in 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch panel sizes and the Samsung Q7F will be available in 55-inch and 65-inch panel sizes.
As mentioned earlier, the display is an Ultra HD 4K resolution with Quantum Dot technology that enhances the colors and provides better lighting options than the OLED TVs. The Quantum Dot Technology makes the TV ideal to be viewed in both a brightly lit and a dark room.
Furthermore, the color contrast is excellent and the details are defined and precise. The screens are available in curved form too, which have a debatable popularity.
The 4K TV series is powered by a quad-core processor. Furthermore, the QLED series can be synced to Samsung’s Smart View app where all of the available content can be operated through the app’s home screen. The TV series also has a universal remote, the Samsung Smart Remote and the speakers are from Dolby Digital that produce excellent sound quality.
Moreover, the company has also announced a pre-booking offer where if you pre-book the new QLED TVs between May 2 and May 21, you will receive a Samsung Galaxy S8+ smartphone for free.
So are you ready to experience your very own cinematic TV screen in your home? Then it’s time to try out Samsung’s QLED TV series. It’s available in the Indian market now and we’re expecting more models to hit the shelves in the coming months too.
