If you want to upload a GIF on Facebook, then you will have to follow the below steps as you can’t post an animated image the way you post a regular image or a video on your profile.
Step 1: Go to Giphy, Imgur, Tumblr or any other image hosting sites and choose the GIF image that you want to share. If you have your own GIF image you want to post on Facebook, then first upload it to either of these image hosting sites.
Step 2: Click on the GIF image to open it and then right-click on the image and select “Copy Image URL” to copy the GIF’s link.
Step 3: Go to Facebook, login to your account and in the “What’s on Your Mind?” status box, paste the image URL and wait for a minute till the GIF image appears below the link.
Step 4: You can now delete the URL of the image or keep it there (it’s up to you) and share the post on your wall by clicking on the “Post” button.
The GIF image will now appear on your profile and you can click on the image to see it in action!
