Completing the trio of the new-gen demon slayers with Zenitsu and Tanjiro, Inosuke is the hot-headed member among the friends as the three, together with Nezuko, travel with one another to complete missions of slaying demons and also help Tanjiro find a cure to turn Nezuko back into a human.
Among all the demon slayers we meet in the series, Inosuke has the most unique upbringing and background. He passed the Final Selection Exam despite no formal training and developed his unique breathing style, the Beast Breathing Style.
Inosuke is a hot-headed individual who acts before thinking, and he won’t hesitate to run into battle, even if he is heavily injured, as long as he remains conscious. His normal appearance is also unique, to say the least, as he wears a boar mask together with the lower portion of the standard Demon Slayer Corps uniform, opting not to wear a top at all.
Underneath his mask lies an extremely delicate face with feminine features, which is a stark contrast to his general disposition and personality. Because he tends to go into battle without a second thought, it is not uncommon to find him in dangerous situations, with others trying their best to keep up with him.
And as he runs head-first into battles without gauging his opponent’s strength, you must wonder whether Inosuke dies in the story!
Does Inosuke Die in Demon Slayer?
For most of Demon Slayer anime, Inosuke can take care of himself against the demons he comes into contact with pretty well. He possesses the necessary strength and confidence to come out alive during an encounter and isn’t one to back down from a fight despite the odds presented against him.
In a battle against demons, Inosuke would always treat it as a battle to the death and rarely back down from a fight. This tendency of Inosuke to place himself in life-threatening situations does make it seem like he can die at any moment.
He once got his throat completely mangled and destroyed after his encounter with “Father” from the Spider Demon Family, and he was inflicted by deadly poison by Daki and Gyutaro while also getting impaled in the heart during the process, which is considered fatal by any means.
But none of that did anything to him because after recuperating for a while, he was back on his feet and going on missions like normal.
Inosuke Hashibira’s unique upbringing, where he was brought up in the wilderness, made his physiology quite impressive. He can control his body in ways an average human can’t; he can dislocate his joints at will, he is extremely flexible, he is fast, agile, and filled with energy.
All this means that killing him is a challenging task; not even the strongest of demons have managed to give him a life-threatening wound!
Does Inosuke Die in Demon Slayer Season 2?
The battle between Daki and Gyutaro definitely took its toll on Inosuke, given the amount of injuries he sustained during the fight. Several demon slayers involved in the battle, including Tanjiro and Inosuke, were afflicted with poison while fighting, which can kill them at any moment.
Additionally, Inosuke received a fatal wound as he was pierced in his heart area from behind by Gyutaro. Despite the injuries and poison that would be enough to take any individual’s life, Inosuke survived. When he was recuperating after the battle with Daki and Gyutaro, it was noted that he might have poison resistance to some extent, which would explain how he survived the poison from the Upper Rank 6 Demon.
Not just Inosuke, the remaining demon slayers, including the Sound Hashira, were able to persist through the battle where they fought to take care of the demon siblings.
Nezuko also joined in the fight with her fully awakened demon form, which allowed her to quickly take care of Daki, albeit at the risk of going berserk, which Tanjiro and his friends successfully prevented.
By the time the Demon Siblings have been taken care of and killed, many Demon Slayers have succumbed to their injuries and collapsed to take a breather. In Inosuke’s case, thanks to his flexibility and his insane control over his body, he was able to avoid getting stabbed in the heart, which saved him from receiving a fatal injury.
However, the poison from the fight remained, and it seemed like it could finish him off. Fortunately, thanks to Nezuko’s Blood Demon Arts, she burned the poison out of Inosuke’s and every other Demon Slayer’s bodies. This is because her Blood Demon Art, while harmful to the demons, is harmless to humans and even provides extra benefits.
Will Inosuke Die in the End? Does Inosuke Hashibira Die in the Manga?
Despite narrowly avoiding death’s door during their fight against Daki and Gyutaro, Inosuke still needed time to recover, especially to prepare for their final confrontation against Muzan.
He would prove to be a critical factor in Muzan’s defeat as he assisted Tanjiro and the others while also being one of the remaining people who prevented Tanjiro from going completely berserk after he was transformed into Demon King Tanjiro by Muzan as a last-ditch effort.
After the final battle against Muzan, where the Demon Slayer Corps emerge victorious, our main characters, including Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke, all survive and live out their lives in peace in a world that is now free of demons.
At the end of the manga, Inosuke goes to live with Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Zenitsu at the sibling’s home, where he helps do most of the physical labor around the house.
And if you are wondering who he ends up with, Inosuke marries Aoi Kanzaki, as the final chapter of the manga shows their grandchild, Aoba Hashibira, conducting research on the Blue Spider Lily!
So, technically, Inosuke Hashibira is dead by the end of the manga, but he dies of old age after getting married and having kids, and he doesn’t die in any battles!
