Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku Season 2 unveiled its first teaser trailer at the Jump Festa 2025 event. It will be released in January 2026, and MAPPA will return to animate the second season!
Though Yuji Kaku’s dark fantasy manga “Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku” debuted in January 2018, its manga panels, dribbling with horror and psychological thriller, garnered millions of fans within months of its release.
The series features death-row inmates trying to stay alive by keeping their very executioners safe and trying to find the “elixir” of life to buy their freedom. Amidst these inmates is our emotionless protagonist, who is living only for the sake of his wife’s affection. While people are willing to die to find immortality, and executioners decide to spare the lives of their assigned criminals, they come across immortal beings who just can’t be defeated!
MAPPA did a great job animating the manga panels to perfection, creating a build-up of emotions through the first three episodes. And then, the studio pulled that classic ‘shattering all our expectations’ move by suddenly changing every character’s tone.
And now MAPPA is returning with a second season, although it’s a bit far away. The action anime’s sequel is scheduled to be released in January 2026!
Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku Season 2 Teaser Trailer:
MAPPA worked on the first season, which was very well received. Fans loved the first 13 episodes, and as the season ended on a cliffhanger, fans have been waiting for news about the sequel.
And thanks to the Jump Festa 2025 event, we have the first teaser trailer for the upcoming second season of Hell’s Paradise anime!
While the teaser showed glimpses of all the main characters from the first season, it also featured Yamada Asaemon Shugen, who had been introduced earlier in the first season’s finale. He is ranked second only to Eizen in the Yamada Asaemon hierarchy and will be sent to Shinsenkyō to acquire Elixir of Life as the leader of a second team.

What to Expect From Hell’s Paradise Season 2?
Hell’s Paradise season 1 finale featured Shion defeating Mu Dan to save Sagiri and Yuzuriha. Meanwhile, Senta dies from his injuries as flowers keep budding out of his body. Later, as the survivors exchange information to make sense of all that’s happened, Yuzuriha suggests that “Elixir of Life” may just be a fable.
Though Sagiri refutes her by talking about Gabimaru’s previous leader, who was immortal, Yuzuriha snaps back, speculating that Gabimaru may be under his leader’s Genjetsu and that Gabimaru’s wife may also be just an illusion.
Shocked, Sagiri stops Yuzuriha from conjecturing further but later clarifies to Shion that she only has sympathy for Gabimaru.
Gabimaru regains consciousness in a different place, but he seems to have lost all his recent memories due to his sudden and excessive use of “Tao.” However, he doesn’t let Fuchi or Mei know about his memory loss, as he has decided to use them as a source of information.
However, the series concluded with Yamada Asaemon Shugen and his comrade being told about the Shogun’s decree to depart for Shinsenkyō to assist the Vanguard party.
