This is one of my favorite anime shows of all time because it has a blend of every genre you could imagine like action, comedy, drama, romance and more. Once you start watching Assassination Classroom, you won’t be able to drop it without completing it and would crave for more. The show has a unique plot where a classroom of students are tasked to assassinate their new teacher before he blows up the Earth because he’s already blown up the moon in half. Their teacher is an octopus-looking alien who is indestructible, can travel at a speed of Mach 20, can regenerate and has a range of other superhuman abilities. What follows is a series of failed assassination attempts where the students try to kill their teacher while he takes a class of lower-ranked students and teach them everything in his power and make them some of the smartest students in the entire campus. I can’t recommend this anime enough, so please watch it right now as you won’t regret it!

You’d think that being a powerful psychic means that your life would be much better than everyone else in the world, but that’s not the case with Saiki Kusuo. He’s the most powerful psychic to live – with powers ranging from teleportation, telepathy, x-ray vision and more – but he hates being the center of attention and does everything in his power to avoid any drama. However, he finds himself being pulled into other people’s problems as he’s constantly surrounded by colorful people who drag him in to the real world. This slice-of-life comedy anime is a mashup of 5-minute episodes showing how Kusuo aims to lead an normal, everyday life; but can’t!

8. Devilman: Crybaby

Devilman: Crybaby
Devilman: Crybaby

Devilman: Crybaby is based on the classic Go Nagai manga and one of the surprising hits of the year. However, I’ll just warn you beforehand that this show may not be suitable for everyone to watch as it features a ton of nudity, gore, violence and things that may not sit well with many of you. However, if you are a fan of anime that not only focuses on good storytelling; but also features weird, yet awesome character designs and outrageous violence then this is the title you need to watch. The show focuses on Akira, a student and a crybaby, who bonds with a powerful devil called Amon and somehow gains control of his powers while remaining human. He, along with his friends, Ryou, goes on battling the devils with unbelievable destructive power; and the climax of the show is definitely something you don’t want to miss!

Kakegurui is one of the most recent Netflix Original anime show released and it already has become quite popular thanks to it’s unique, and engaging, plot! The show focuses on a new transfer student, Yumeko Jabami at Hyakkaou Private Academy where the students are the children of the richest people in the world. The academy is just like other normal academies in the day, teaching students everything ranging from languages, history and the like to get them ready for the real world; but by night, it transforms into a gambling den educating them in the art of dealing with money and manipulating people. Yumeko Jabami is a beautiful new student who seems naive at first, but has a borderline insane way of gambling where she plays for the thrills and doesn’t really care about winning!

4. One-Punch Man

One-Punch Man
One-Punch Man

The show that break all stereotypes and introduced a ton of people to the anime world. One-Punch Man is essentially a parody of sorts as it pokes fun at all the other anime show whose main characters get insanely overpowered and are able to defeat all of their nemesis. This show gives us Saitama as the main character, who is so overpowered from the beginning that he can defeat everyone with a single punch and without taking any damage at all. The plot seems boring as the hero has no challenges, but it does a really good job at showing us how he deals with everyday life and is bored out of his wits that he can’t find any real challenges, thanks to his overwhelming strength. If you’ve not seen the show, then this is the best anime on Netflix that you shouldn’t miss. Watch it now as the season 2 of the show’s also been announced!

The series focuses on the ongoing battle between Titans (giant creatures) and the remaining humans who are trying to survive in what’s left of the world. There’s a lot of twists and turns in the story as it’s not just about the humans fighting against the colossal titans but there’s a lot of other things at stake as well as new mysteries being unveiled with plenty of plot development.
