Since the first anime episode and the manga chapter of Attack on Titan, we’ve been introduced to Titans alongside their characteristics, biology, behavior, and physiology, which are drastically different from regular humans.
Many of the Titans we see earlier share the same characteristics, save for some of them having different appearances and heights in comparison. These Titans are often identified as “Pure Titans” and can reach about 15 meters tall.
Besides the numerous appearances of different Pure Titans, there are several other Titans that not only look different from them but also have their own unique traits and abilities that separate them from regular Titans.
The “Nine Titans” are a group of Titans that were a product of Ymir Fritz’s powers getting split nine ways. Each of the Nine Titans usually has a drastically different appearance to your regular Titans and can be passed down between compatible individuals.
In this article, we will talk about the tallest Titans in Attack on Titan, as every one of the Nine Titans’ appearances differs based on their unique traits and their current inheritor. So, let’s have a look at the list and see who are the biggest Titans in terms of height!
The Biggest Titans in Attack on Titan:
13. Cart Titan (4 Meters Tall)
The Cart Titan is probably the most unusual of the Nine Titans as it is not only the shortest, at about 4 meters in height, but also has a different form as it has a Quadrupedal form instead of the typical Bipedal form that many Titans, including several Titan Shifters have until it first appearance in the series.
The Cart Titan’s circumstances of having to walk on all fours is the reason why it has a smaller height compared to the other Nine Titans.
Despite its somewhat goofy and unassuming appearance, the Cart Titan has its own ability, which is incredibly high endurance and durability. This makes the Cart Titan naturally suited to long missions as the Titan (and, by extension, the holder) can continue to work for longer periods without having to rest.
The Cart Titan has displayed its high endurance several times as it is seen carrying heavy artillery, such as a cannon, while also being able to move at fast speed despite its cargo weight.
12. Jaw Titan (5 Meters Tall)
Next on the list is the Jaw Titan, which is slightly taller than the Cart Titan. Like the Cart Titan, the Jaw Titan has similar characteristics, barring the enhanced endurance the Cart Titan provides. Instead of this, the Jaw Titan instead trades its endurance for speed, agility, and a powerful jaw.
Any person who has the powers of the Jaw Titan and transformed into them is shown to be able to gain drastic amounts of speed and agility. The speed demonstrated by the Jaw Titan is unmatched compared to other Titans and, unlike its larger counterparts, can utilize small areas and terrain to its finest.
True to its name, the Jaw Titan is capable of destroying several structures with ease, thanks to its sharp teeth, powerful jaw, and destructive claws. It was shown that the Titan can tear through armored opponents and structures, including the Armored Titan itself.
11. Frieda Reiss’ Founding Titan (13 Meters Tall)
The Founding Titan has the power to command all Titans, including the Nine Titans, as it possesses the power of absolute control, with some extra powers. We find that the Founding Titan went through several holders before ending up with Eren, with one of them being Frieda Reiss.
Frieda Reiss was the true queen of the Walls of Paradis Island. She was the inheritor of the Founding Titan before it was stolen by Eren’s father, Grisha Yeager. When she was the holder of the Founding Titan’s power, we can assume she had all its unique abilities but couldn’t fully learn to use it to its utmost potential.
Her Founding Titan form was only seen briefly and bears a very similar appearance to Annie’s Female Titan form. She wasn’t shown to have utilized her abilities as the Founding Titan that much but was shown fighting Grisha’s Attack Titan form.
10. Female Titan (14 Meters Tall)
The Female Titan is one of the earliest of the Nine Titans (barring Eren’s transformation into the Attack Titan) that we get acquainted with in the story. The first encounter with the Female Titan was quite interesting, especially the part where the Survey Corps first encountered her.
Besides having an obvious feminine appearance compared to other Titans, the Female Titan has its own share of abilities that make it unique. One such ability the holders of the Female Titan have is how adaptable the Titan is, as it can exhibit abilities from other Titans.
Additionally, the Female Titan is shown to be capable of attracting other Titans to her general area. This ability is triggered by a scream, but it has a downside as it causes the attracted Titans to attack the Female Titan as well.
9. Armored Titan (15 Meters Tall)
Appearing alongside the Colossal Titan at the start of the series, the Armored Titan was a significant threat to everyone living within the Wall Maria on Paradis Island. The Titan played a vital role in the events of the Fall of Wall Maria as it broke down several barriers using its armored body.
The Armored Titan’s biggest strength comes from its skin, which is covered by various hardened plates. This armor is strong enough to withstand various hits, such as cannons, the steel blades used by the Survey Corps, and even the attacks of other Titans.
It also provides an offensive use as it can be used to strengthen the Armored Titan’s attacks and even create claws. Despite this, the Titan is considerably slower due to the amount of weight it has, which is caused by its armor plates.
8. War Hammer Titan (15 Meters Tall)
The War Hammer Titan is a specialized combat Titan that is shown to be capable of creating things out of hardened Titan Flesh. The things that this Titan makes are usually weaponry ranging from spears to poles and its signature war hammer. Like many Titans, holders of this power can use its ability to create a crystal casing to protect the holder while also allowing them to remain conscious.
Its ability to create an arsenal of weaponry makes the War Hammer Titan a challenging enemy to beat, which was displayed when Eren fought it. Not only does it have versatile weapons, but it’s also different from other Titans, as the inheritor is not within the Titan’s nape.
Despite the War Hammer Titan’s strength, and as one of the strongest Titans, it is prone to getting tired out extremely fast if its abilities are pushed to their absolute limit.
7. Attack Titan (15 Meters Tall)
Eren Yaeger’s Attack Titan was one of the very first Titans that were introduced as a power held by individuals called Titan Shifters. Before Eren became the holder of the Attack Titan, we discover it originally belonged to his father, Grisha Yaeger.
True to its name, the Attack Titan is probably the most well-rounded among the Nine Titans, as it has an average height of 15 meters while also having good offenses and defenses without having to sacrifice its speed and mobility.
As demonstrated by Eren, the Attack Titan is considerably sturdy as it is shown enduring several hits from strong opponents.
One of the most unique abilities the Attack Titan has is its ability to receive and learn the memories of future inheritors of the skill. It was through this power that many of the story’s events happened and why Eren decided to take on the path he chose.
6. Beast Titan (17 Meters Tall)
True to its name, the Beast Titan has a beast-like appearance, completely different from the Pure Titans, who take on a human-like appearance. The various inheritors had the physical appearance resembling different animals, which included monkeys, birds, crocodiles, and more.
Zeke Yeager’s Beast Titan form had an ape-like appearance, giving him a more monstrous look than other Titans. A unique ability demonstrated by this Titan is its ability to transform other humans into Titans by having them drink its spinal fluid and then control those Titans.
This ability is probably due to Zeke having royal blood within him because this ability resembles the Founding Titan’s ability to control all Titans without limitations. However, Zeke’s Beast Titan can only control those Titans he creates with his spinal fluid!
5. Wall Titans (40 to 50 Meters Tall)
The Wall Titans have a similar appearance to the Colossal Titan but are shorter by at least 10 meters and have enhanced hardening abilities. These Titans got their names from the purpose they served several years ago during the construction of the Walls of Paradis Island.
Thanks to the Wall Titan’s hardening ability, they were used as molds to create the Walls while also serving as its pillars and foundations.
The Titans were also shown to generate a lot of heat and steam, which they can use both defensively and offensively. The Titan’s massive size alone is its greatest asset, as it can easily crush and flatten anything below it, which is why they were used in the Rumbling.
4. Colossal Titan (60 Meters Tall)
The first of the Nine Titans we saw, and one of the tallest Titans, was the Colossal Titan, which was the biggest threat to humanity at the start of the series. The biggest strength the Colossal Titan had was its sheer size of 60 meters, which allowed it to tower over the Walls of Paradis Island completely.
The Colossal Titan’s size gives it unparalleled strength and offense, as a single hit from the Titan was able to demolish a large portion of Wall Maria with ease. Not only does it have great strength, but the Colossal Titan can create a large explosion at will due to the amount of steam and heat its body generates at a time.
The Titan’s greatest strength is also its greatest weakness, as because of the Titan’s size, the Colossal Titan is extremely slow. Despite this, its size makes it a dangerous opponent as cutting through its nape was incredibly hard and requires the combined efforts of several members of the Survey Corps.
3. Rod Reiss’ Titan (120 Meters Tall)
Rod Reiss is another key character in the Attack on Titan series, as he was Historia’s father and the true King of the Walls when he was alive. His goal in life was to find a way to return the stolen powers of the Founding Titan back to his family, with the plan involving having his daughter Historia eat Eren to inherit it back.
We first saw Rod transform into a Titan as an act of desperation to secure the Founding Titan from Eren. Despite Rod transforming into a Pure Titan, his transformation was quite drastic, resulting in him becoming one of the biggest Titans we had seen in the series, standing at a height of 120 meters.
His titan form was extremely horrific in appearance, having a similar look to worms. He even lost his face as he was dragging his body on the ground to move ahead. Besides his enormous size, his Titan form also generated a lot of heat, which made him a dangerous entity to approach.
2. Ymir Fritz’s Founding Titan (150 to 200 Meters Tall)
Although the exact height of Ymir Fritz’s Founding Titan was never revealed, we can guess that it was one of the biggest based on the few times we saw its appearance.
Ymir Fritz is a central character in the entire story of Attack on Titan as she was the first human ever to inherit the powers of the Titan, making her the first Titan and the true Founding Titan.
Being the original Founding Titan, Ymir had all the abilities that the modern Founding Titans have, such as being able to create and control other Titans.
What makes Ymir different is how it was stated that she could recultivate barren lands and make great advancements to humanity through her powers as the Titan. She was also given the additional power of serving as the coordinator of all her descendants to ensure that the power of the Titans continued.
Contrary to her artistic renditions, Ymir’s Titan form is drastically different than what was initially depicted, as she was not only huge but bore a monstrous appearance with an exposed rib and a distinct lack of a face and skin.
1. Eren’s Founding Titan (200 to 240 Meters Tall)
Continuing from Ymir’s Founding Titan, Eren Yeager is the last inheritor of the power before the power of the Titans disappeared from the world following his death.
Being the Founding Titan, Eren is shown to be capable of commanding every Titan in existence and bringing back to life the different iterations of the Nine Titans of the past.
Eren’s Founding Titan form is probably the most disturbing and scary in appearance as it bore similarities to Ymir Fritz’s Titan appearance. His Founding Titan was extremely large, being the largest Titan possible at 200 to 240 meters, while also having a skeleton appearance with his head connected to his lower torso by a giant rib cage.
Having consumed two other Titans besides the Founding Titan, Eren could use their abilities in conjunction with the Founding Titan’s own abilities, making him an incredibly dangerous opponent.
