Eren’s Founding Titan has been a topic of discussion ever since we first saw Eren acquiring its power and transforming into one of the biggest Titan forms on the show. And one of the things that every fan has been interested to know is exactly how big is Eren’s Founding Titan! So, that’s what we’ll be talking about in this article!
For the many Titans that we get to see in Attack on Titan, most of them share a very similar appearance to one another, barring a few differences, especially of the “Nine Titans.”
Out of all the special Titans introduced into the series, the Founding Titan is perhaps one of the most intriguing as it served as the origins of all Titans and the entire story of Attack on Titan.
Many of the different inheritors of the Founding Titan share a typical appearance to many Titans, giving it a somewhat unimpressive appearance, barring its tall height, when we see other holders of its power.
However, this is drastically different in Eren’s case, as his Founding Titan form is extremely different from the previous inheritors of the Founding Titan. Eren’s form takes the appearance of a skeleton, which is massive in size, easily towering over even the Colossal Titan, making it the biggest Titan in the franchise and the one with the most monstrous appearance.
So, it’s only natural that you’d want to know the exact size of Eren’s Founding Titan form. You are curious to know how big and tall this Titan form is, so let’s discuss it in detail!
How Big is Eren’s Founding Titan?
The exact height of Eren’s Founding Titan form is never officially revealed in the story, given its massive size and the events that followed it, giving the characters little time to thoroughly analyze its capabilities and biography.
Given the various appearances of Eren’s Founding Titan form that we get to see, anyone who sees him can clearly notice just how big Eren is in this form.
While being the Founding Titan, he easily towers over other Titans with ease while also keeping up with them during the Rumbling.
We can roughly estimate Eren’s Founding Titan form to be around 200 to 240 meters, given how he looks once he’s transformed into this form.
When we see Eren’s Founding Titan form, we can easily find him towering over almost everything around him, including the Wall Titans, giving off an uneasy feeling of a looming and dangerous threat over the horizon.
To make things even more interesting and give an even better idea of how big and how tall Eren’s Founding Titan is, Studio MAPPA released a CG model that shows Eren’s form in comparison to the Shiganshina district, and it is massive.
The image above clearly shows that the Founding Titan form of Eren is the biggest in the history of Titans, covering almost the entirety of the Shiganshina district.
But there’s also the question of why is Eren’s Founding Titan so massive when the previous Founding Titans weren’t this big. And there is an apparent reason for this, so let’s see why this particular form is so big, imposing, and deadly!
Why is Eren’s Founding Titan so Big?
One of the most common traits that many holders of the Founding Titan’s powers, besides its primary abilities, is the impressive height that comes with it.
The Founding Titan itself is already impressive in height despite some holders falling short to Titans such as the Colossal Titan, which is around 60 meters tall. Eren’s Founding Titan’s height results from a combination of several factors besides this trait.
For starters, in the entire series, the height of a Titan usually gives an implicit idea of just how great their strength is and the danger they pose to other Titans and ordinary people. Most of the time, the bigger the size of the Titan, the more dangerous they are, making height the most notable gauge of strength between the different Titan shifters.
In Eren’s case, being the Founding Titan and owning the Attack Titan and War Hammer Titan makes him one of the franchise’s strongest and most dangerous Titan Shifters.
Not only is the power of the Founding Titan incredibly powerful, but his interaction and connection to Ymir allowed him to better understand his powers compared to previous holders. External factors and the events that happened during his initial transformation into the Founding Titan all led to his massive height that easily towers every other Titan and makes him a dangerous threat that is seemingly unkillable.
But what makes Eren’s Founding Titan form so big is his circumstances during the transformation. You see, Gabi shot his head off before Eren could come in contact with Zeke, but Zeke ended up catching Eren’s head, and they were both transported to the “Coordinate.”
There, Ymir, the first Founding Titan, granted the full scope of her powers to Eren, which resulted in a spine elongating from Eren’s neck, connecting his decapitated head to his body. So, when the transformation happened, Eren’s Founding Titan retained a giant spine and a massive rib cage that connected his head to the rest of his body.
This is why Eren’s Founding Titan is massive, and its appearance is very different from the rest of the Titans shown in the story!
Why is Eren’s Founding Titan a Skeleton?
As mentioned earlier, Eren’s height in his Founding Titan form isn’t the only factor that labels him a threat to all of humanity. The other half of the reason his Founding Titan form is incredibly fearsome is its appearance, which is that of a skeleton that is drastically different from any Titan ever seen before.
Previous holders of the Founding Titan usually have the typical appearance of a Titan, as seen with Ymir’s and Frieda’s forms, as well as having a normal appearance. We can surmise that the Founding Titans look like a typical Titan without any recognizable traits akin to that of the special Nine Titans we are introduced to in the story.
However, Eren’s Founding Titan appearance is different as it is an entire skeleton that gives off an unnerving vibe to anyone who sees him and is made all the more fearsome given its apparent biography and strength.
The reason why Eren’s Founding Titan takes on a skeletal appearance is because of Gabi, as she shot Eren’s head off during his initial transformation.
Since Gabi shot off Eren’s head, his spine was elongated to connect his head to his remaining body after he gained the Founding Titan’s power from Ymir. This resulted in him transforming into the Founding Titan form while retaining the giant spine and ribcage connecting his head to his remaining body!
The circumstances that resulted at the time of his transformation were never seen in the entire series, resulting in Eren’s monstrous appearance at the end when he started the Rumbling. Eren’s head and the source of all Titan’s power, which is the spine, were the only two things present during his transformation, making him the most disfigured out of all the Titan shifters we’ve seen.
Conclusion
Eren’s Founding Titan form is probably the most iconic in the entire story, which the manga was able to beautifully showcase with its unnerving appearance and how it was able to cause the death of 80% of the entire world’s population.
The anime has shown to be able to capture this feeling of a looming threat and the sense of dread characters in the story feel when catching a glimpse of it with its powers yet to be showcased with the airing of the finale.
In conclusion, I hope you now know precisely how big Eren’s Founding Titan is and how big of a threat it was as he unleashed the Rumbling and almost successfully annihilated every human outside of Paradis Island!
