One Piece doesn’t need any introduction as it is one of the best anime of all time and one of the best-selling manga series. Fans have grown up watching One Piece or reading it, which makes it a part of their lives. Though everything about the show intrigues the fans, Haki users have a different fanbase, especially Conqueror’s Haki. And so, we will talk about all the known Conqueror’s Haki users in One Piece.
Haki is the power everyone can master, but not everyone succeeds in awakening it. One can learn it with sheer determination and training. Though it’s not an easy task, and that’s the reason why only a few can awaken this power.
Its usage depends on the user, as it can be used to defend or attack simultaneously. Haki allows its user to use their energy for several things. One can also use it to predict the opponent’s next move or sense the others’ powers. Even though people can master it, Haki can still be depleted for a certain period if one overuses it.
There are three main known types of Haki, and that are Armament Haki (Busoshoku), Observation Haki (Kenbunshoku), and then Conqueror’s Haki (Haoshoku). One can master only two types of Haki – Observation and Armament. However, Conqueror’s Haki users are born with it because it’s commonly referred to as “Haki of the Kings.” It’s innate, so not everyone can use this power.
Since we are only focusing on Conqueror’s Haki in this article, I will skip talking about the other two forms of Haki. Conqueror’s Haki is basically connected to one’s “will,” the stronger one’s will, the stronger the Haki will be, and the stronger the effect will be.
More specifically, the user can use their willpower to conquer others. The expert level of this Haki can even use their conquering spirit in their weapons and attacks. It’s so strong that Conqueror Haki users can even turn people unconscious with their presence alone.
Every Haki user’s strength varies from the other depending on various factors, including their experience and conditions and their innate talent. And since we have seen a couple of One Piece characters who already possess said traits, I decided to feature them. So, let’s not waste any more time and get to it!
Strongest Conqueror’s Haki Users in One Piece!
17. Portgas D. Ace
Ace is strong alone because of his Mera Mera no Mi Devil Fruit, which allows him to use fire the way he wants. One can’t take his power lightly; he could cause damage on a massive scale. Ace activated his Conqueror’s Haki when he was still a child when he was just 10 years old, which is quite an achievement.
In the beginning, Ace had no control over his Haki, which could come from rage. We all had seen the rage of his power when he protected Luffy from the Bluejam Pirates by unintentionally activating the Conqueror’s Haki.
However, he’s ranked at the bottom of the article because we have never seen him use this power again in the series. And his early death only made things worse because he had so much more potential than anyone on this list to become the strongest character in the world of One Piece.
16. Boa Hancock
The beauty we all admire! Meet Boa Hancock, known for her beauty and strength. Boa is blessed to use all three types of Haki, but she is famous for her Armament Haki. Her Armament Haki is so strong that she can even fight against the Logia users that can shape their bodies into a natural element.
Don’t mistake this beauty for being delicate. She can easily break the stones and even turn things into stones using her Devil Fruit abilities. Besides, her Conqueror’s Haki allows her to be more swift and strong, but she can’t compete with the strongest characters. And she’s also so far below on the list because we have never seen her use her Conquerer’s Haki, even once, in the series.
15. Eustass Kid
Eustass Kid is infamous for being one of the pirates from the “Worst Generation.” Not much is known about his Conqueror’s Haki, but it’s believed to be strong. He has never used it, and Kaido confirmed that he also possesses the Haki of Kings, which was a big surprise to fans.
Kid’s Devil Fruit is Jiki Jiki no Mi, which enables him to use magnetic forces, allowing him control over magnetic fields and metals. I bet we all have seen his gigantic hand made of metals. It is the manifestation of his devil fruit’s power. So, opponents with the power of metals would be at a significant disadvantage against him because he can manipulate metals.
Well, he is pretty strong, but still, there is so much potential in him to grow as he still hasn’t mastered his powers completely. He is never shown to rely on any Haki abilities; he primarily depends on his Devil Fruit abilities in all his battles.
14. Don Chinjao
Don Chinjao is an old buddy famous for being the leader of the Happo Navy but is now retired. He started on bad terms with Luffy, but later, he became his ally. This man is so strong that he can destroy the ground with his head. Don’t mistake him for being slow just because of his age; he is swift enough to match Luffy’s Gear Second-enhanced speed.
Don can also use three types of Haki. Still, he is an expert in Armament Haki, which allows him to harden himself, simultaneously providing him with great attacking and defensive capabilities. He showcases Conqueror’s Haki to a great extent against the opponents in Block C. The fight between him and Luffy while using the Conqueror’s Haki was very entertaining.
13. Sengoku
Sengoku is the formal Fleet Admiral of the Marines and has excellent military experience, so it’s only natural that he is one of the strongest characters in One Piece. He is a genius and extremely strong, thanks to his Devil Fruit, the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu, that transforms him into a Golden Buddha.
Devil Fruits aside, he can use all the Haki types, which makes him the only person among the marines who can use all three of them. He is strong enough to earn the compliment from Gol D. Roger, the King of Pirates, who stated that he was worth his time.
Although he has never shown his Conqueror’s Haki, it’s been confirmed that he possesses it. And that’s the only reason he is so low on this list. Otherwise, he is most definitely one of the top 5 or even the top 3 strongest Conqueror’s Haki users in One Piece!
12. Donquixote Doflamingo
Doflamingo is admired as not just one of the strongest characters but also one of the best villains in One Piece, and undoubtedly he is. I hope we all remember him forcing Luffy to a great extent to compete with him in the new world.
One could easily guess the level of strength this man holds from that fight. Doflamingo gave Luffy a tough competition, and that’s truly an achievement!!!! They used their Conqueror’s Haki against each other and surprised everyone with their stupendous powers. His Devil Fruit is Ito Ito no Mi, which adds to his strength, allowing him to cut through anything using his strings.
He doesn’t require an army to aid him; instead, he alone is sufficient to do the work, and we know this fact. But that also implies how strong Luffy alone is because he was able to defeat Doflamingo!!!
11. Roronoa Zoro
A name that is famous and holds a special place in the hearts of anime fans, Roronoa Zoro is worthy of praise and love. Zoro has improved drastically throughout the anime and has evolved immensely in his swordsmanship. He can also use all the types of Haki, but he is the most skilled in Armament Haki. However, in the recently concluded Wano arc, it was confirmed that Zoro is also one of the Conqueror’s Haki users, and he used it in his battle against Kaido and injured him gravely.
He might have been above a few of the characters you will see in the list, but he is out of the top 10 because he hasn’t gained control over his Conqueror’s Haki yet. He didn’t even know that he possessed it. So, at this point, he is not among the strongest. In fact, I am more eager to see Luffy being his teacher and helping him master it!
10. Charlotte Katakuri
Charlotte Katakuri is yet another great antagonist of the anime! Aside from the fact that he can use all three types of Haki, he is highly skilled in Observation Haki; he is so good at it that it allows him to see a couple of seconds in the future. Even though he doesn’t see farther in the future, it’s still very helpful in battles.
His Devil Fruit powers make him powerful enough to give a tough time to his opponents. Plus, when they are combined with his advanced Haki, it’s a double bonus.
He is extremely strong, the strongest member of Big Mom Pirates after Big Mom herself. And his ultimate battle with Luffy was worth watching, especially the scene where both of their Conquerors Haki clashed with each other. Though Luffy won the battle, trust me, Katakuri’s strength was simply incredible.
9. Yamato
Strength, speed, endurance, and whatnot, Yamato has it all. Born as Kaido’s daughter, Yamato greatly admired Kozuki Oden, so much so that he decided to impersonate Oden and become just like him. And so, Yamato decided to identify as a man, so we will use the pronouns “he” from now on!
Yamato is not only an expert in Observation and Armament Haki but also highly skilled in Conqueror’s Haki. His Devil Fruit is Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami, a Mythical Zoan fruit, which allows him to transform into an ancient wolf deity at will.
The reason why Yamato is so high up on this list is that he is very strong, and he is capable of using Conquerors Haki in his fights. Plus, he could fight Kaido on his own and keep him busy while Luffy was recuperating, which is a remarkable feat of strength in itself.
And since Kaido is his father, it’s only natural for him to be extremely powerful. Yamato awakened his Conquerors Haki at a very young age, i.e., when he was just eight. He can also use Conqueror’s Haki to an advanced level that allows him to use it in his weapons and hurt invulnerable beings like Kaido. These facts helped him earn his place among the strongest Conqueror’s Haki users in One Piece.
8. Silvers Rayleigh
Silvers Rayleigh is one of the strongest characters in the series. He is the first mate of the Roger Pirates and the right-hand man of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. He has an immense mastery over all three types of Haki, especially Conqueror’s Haki, and he was the first character to show us what Haki is and how to use it.
The credit behind Luffy’s spectacular use of Haki goes to this man who trained him to master his Haki during the time skip. So the level of mastery can easily be guessed from the fact that he is a capable teacher! Rayleigh is an old man, and that’s what makes him exceptionally powerful. He is an old pirate in a world where pirates are constantly threatened to be killed, so his survival till his old age proves just how strong he is. Even now, after being retired for ages, the Marines are afraid of his name.
7. Kozuki Oden
As they say, you can never judge someone just by their looks. In the case of Kozuki Oden, it stands true. If you make a judgment based on his appearance and his funny, outgoing, and utterly hyperactive character, you are at a loss. He may look like someone who doesn’t know a thing about power or the world, but he knows more than many. Oden appeared as one of the main protagonists of the famous “Land of Wano Arc.”
Contrary to his funny appearance, this man is listed as one of the strongest in the One Piece series. Many reasons support this statement. He is among those few people who can easily use all three Haki types. He can wield dual swords exceptionally. His character and personality, which grow stronger and stronger by helping others, are the best things about him.
As for his Haki, the one that dominates all is the Conqueror’s Haki, aka the Haoshoku Haki, which best suits him. Master swordsmanship is one thing Oden’s Haki is known for among the rest. Oden is a powerful man who can easily manipulate and wield Enma, the mighty sword that gave even Zoro a hard time, without any significant drawbacks.
Adding to his powers, the other two dominating Haki’s of Oden make a deadly combination. Thanks to his other two Haki, Busoshoku and Kenbunshoku, he can solidify the swords that help him defend and attack simultaneously. His perception skills and dodging are on another level, thanks to the Kenbunshoku that enhances his sixth sense.
And he is highly skilled at using his Conquerors Haki as well because he is the only character who gave Kaido his scar. No other character in the series could even pierce his impenetrable skin, but Oden did it and gave the alliance the hope that Kaido was not exactly invulnerable!
6. Big Mom
For those who say women aren’t strong, Big Mom, aka Charlotte Linlin, can give them a taste of her power. Crowned as one of One Piece’s most powerful female characters, Big Mom takes the spotlight and makes her presence known. She is feared widely because she is one of the Four Emperors of the Sea, the strongest pirates in all of One Piece. But judging from her appearance, she may give off a dull aura.
However, contrary to her outward appearance Big Mom was born with immense strength. Her punches that can destroy everything in one go prove that she is a master worthy of being crowned an emperor. Charlotte can use the Conqueror’s Haki easily and can take out many opponents in the blink of an eye. Thanks to her Haki, she does not require touching anyone and inflicting harm on them.
Big Mom is considered stronger thanks to the Devil Fruit that she possesses. It is one of the deadly devil fruits that enable Big Mom to take control of the souls of her targets and make them useless. However, she did get defeated by a duo of heroes, yet it is no lie that her powers well exceed her name. On that note, the anime does mention that Big Mom is the only known character that can use all kinds of Haki without much strain.
5. Monkey D. Luffy
The show’s protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy, has many names and powers and is the pinnacle of ultimate competence. His accomplishments are twice the number of his age or even more. The creators made Luffy with only one thing in focus, “no limit to the powers.” He truly is the embodiment of unimaginable power.
Including the deadliest and extremely powerful devil fruit, Luffy can use all three types of Haki. He is the second known person to use the Haki to its full potential easily, but he is still learning it and getting stronger at it the more he uses it.
With a slim physique, Luffy may disappoint many opponents because they think of him as someone not capable of holding his ground, while the fact is exactly the opposite. He is on par with the Four Emperors of the Sea and even became one after defeating Kaido.
As for his Haki, Luffy is exceptionally skilled in using Armament Haki and Observation Haki. Thanks to his mastery, he has excellent threat perception, the ability to dodge any attacks, and the ability to take a sneak peek at future events to the ultimate level. He becomes an exceedingly competent and undefeatable opponent. And now, he has figured out that he can use Conquerors Haki to coat his attacks in his battles, so his attack power has gone through the roof.
4. Kaido
Kaido is, without a doubt, one of the strongest characters of One Piece. He is famous by many names, like Kaido of the Beasts, Governor General of the Beasts Pirates, Strongest Creature in the world, and one of the Four Emperors of the Sea. His gigantic build and humongous personality are a perfect fit for his status as leader of the Beast Pirates. The arrogance, pride, and temper add to his dominance.
Kaido is merciless and impudent, but only in the face of power will he feel respect for the opponent. Yet he considered that not many are worthy of power, referring to his statement about the Conquerors Haki. Since he is one of four emperors, he undoubtedly has all three types of Haki.
His control over Haoshoku Haki is simply amazing. After the clash of two formidable emperors using the same Haoshoku Haki, the landscape was changed completely. Kaido’s mastery over Haki is on another level, leaving everyone in awe.
During his fight with Luffy, where he used Armament Haki, it gave spine-chilling sensations to the fans because Luffy had a hard time holding his ground against Kaido. Still, after many tries, we know the outcome. However, one can’t deny that Kaido is utterly strong because, with his Kenbonshoku Haki, he can even take a glimpse of the near future that enables him to take measures beforehand in a fight and ultimately have the upper hand.
And even after he got defeated by Luffy, I still think that he is stronger than Luffy because it took Luffy multiple tries to defeat Kaido. At the same time, Kaido fought the Akazaya Nine, he fought Law and Kid, and he even fought Yamato, all the while he was lifting Onigashima in the air. Kaido wasn’t at his best when fighting Luffy, so he is still much stronger than him!
3. Edward Newgate, aka Whitebeard
The man known as “The Strongest Man in the World,” Edward Newgate, aka Whitebeard, is one of the most powerful pirates in the history of One Piece. Even though he possessed an insurmountable amount of strength, he was selfless, passionate, loving, powerful, and kind, a fatherly figure for many in the series.
His battles and crew members prove how strong he was and how he lived his life valuing the future of his crewmates. Whitebeard is also said to be the man who was closest to finding the “One Piece” after Gol D. Roger’s death. But he never really cared to find it.
Being one of the Four Emperors, he is a master of all three forms of Haki. We didn’t get to see him using his Conquerors Haki during the battle of Marineford, but we did see him in the flashbacks where he fought against Roger, and their battle was on a completely different scale than what we saw in the series, so far.
However, with age, things changed, but he was still feared because one could not harm him even in his sleep. Thanks to his mastery over Kenbunshoku Haki, he could dodge attacks in his sleep. To top it off, he was the pinnacle of power when alive and surely left many with heartbreak after his death.
2. Shanks
Shanks is the man who gave Luffy his goal to become the King of the Pirates by finding the One Piece. He holds his position as one of the Four Emperors and an enigmatic figure in the series we still don’t know much about. Shanks is one of the first people who ever acknowledged Luffy, and as proof and a promise, he gave his precious straw hat to Luffy.
Looking at his laid-back and carefree character, no one can say that Shanks is one of the strongest characters in the series. However, it is true in all might. His swordsmanship is so impressive that even his enemies acknowledge him.
Shanks is a master of all three forms of Haki, which is a must for an Emperor. However, his skills with these Haki are unmatchable.
For instance, his Haoshoku Haki is entirely different. One glare is more than enough to subdue an opponent. And he is the only character whose Conquerors Haki has been shown to affect physical objects, like when he damaged Whitebeard’s ship with his mere presence when he went to meet him. And more recently, we saw him using his Conquerors Haki to scare off Admiral Ryokugyu from a considerable distance away. As the stats state, his Haoshoku Haki is probably the strongest we have seen in the series.
Not only that, but Shanks is famous for using his killing technique in Haoshoku Haki. He can fully control his presence and somehow stop his opponents from seeing into the future, i.e., renders their Observation Haki useless.
1. Gol D. Roger
Gol D. Roger, the man who started the Golden Age of Pirates, the owner of “One Piece” and the Pirate King, was a man like none before. He was the embodiment of power, passion, and dominance itself. His smiling face at all times became a prominent part of him because he was always energetic and ready to fight for his friends. Not running away from a battle is a warrior trait, and Gol D. Roger was one.
The only man Monkey D. Garp fought and had a hard time against yet earned his respect. Although the unnatural duo was archenemies, they trusted each other more than themselves. A unique relationship traversed through generations and resulted in bonds more precious than life.
Apart from his life, Gol D. Roger’s death was the start of the Golden Age of Pirates. His smiling face in the face of death led to an everlasting impression on pirates and the world. As for his powers, this man had immense physical strength, including the ultimate best of Haki.
Roger was one of the few pirates who could infuse their weapons with Conquerors Haki, and before Shanks, he might be the strongest Conquerors Haki user in One Piece.
During his lifetime, Roger never lost a battle and was always up on the go to fight for his friends. His personality and traits are repeatedly compared with Luffy, and many said Luffy was the split image of Roger instead of Ace, his biological son.
His Haoshoku Haki expertise, including Busoshoku and Kenbunshoku Haki, was incomparable. His clash against Whitebeard, where both showcased their expertise in using the Haoshoku Haki, resulted in lightning waves and utter destruction of the landscape.
Gol D. Roger is why we are watching the One Piece series. If it weren’t for him, there would be no search for the One Piece and hence no such passionate and powerful pirates roaming the seas.
Conclusion
Now then, fellas, with Gol D, Roger, we conclude our list of all known Conquerors Haki users in One Piece. You might not agree with me placing certain characters above or below the others, but I gave you my reasoning of doing so. If you think that I made a mistake with the rankings, please drop a comment below.
In conclusion, I just want to say that these are the known Conqueror’s Haki users, there might still be many out there who have it and haven’t shown it. The series is still ongoing so I will update the list whenever a new character shows he possesses Haoshoku Haki, and I am sure that we will likely see a couple of new characters showing this feat before One Piece comes to an end.
