The starter Pokémon have already been revealed, but if you want to find out what the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet starters evolutions look like, you’ve come to the right page!
In the Pokémon industry, a new generation of a new game means new Pokémon characters. In this upcoming Generation 9, there are three most anticipated Pokémon: Fuecoco, Quaxly, and Sprigatito. As usual, they represent the three starter types of every Pokémon game – fire, water, and grass.
Basically, they are the 9th set of starter Pokémon. Isn’t that cool? The Pokémon world will never really get tired of surprising us!
A release date has been set for the 18th of November 2022 for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The game’s second trailer only revealed a few details, leaving fans guessing about the starter evolutions based on the trailer.
So, let’s meet the three starter Pokémon of the upcoming game, “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.”
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Starters
The hype for the new starter Pokémon designs of Generation 9 excites all avid fans of the Pokémon franchise! We present you a very honest appearance description of the three starter Pokémon in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Fuecoco
Fuecoco is another crocodile-like starter Pokémon. It has a red body, and honestly speaking, it looks like a spicy red pepper. On the other hand, if you will focus on looking at its face, it actually resembles a sliced apple, which is a very adorable appearance.
This fire-type Pokémon is also bipedal, just like Totodile, and as expected from a crocodilian Pokémon, it has a huge mouth. It has two tuft-like structures on its head. Presumably, it is the hair of this Pokémon since it appears like a mini-mohawk hairstyle. If Fuecoco gets very excited, the fire energy inside its body oozes out from its tufts.
Quaxly
Quaxly is a duck-like starter Pokémon. It has a white body and based on its appearance, it definitely resembles a duck or a goose. This Pokémon has a thick blue tuft on its head that looks like either a hair or a cap. And, of course, its medium size yellow beak.
This water-type Pokémon also has a cool-looking appearance, giving the same energy as that of Sirfetch’d. Far from another famous duck Pokémon, no other than the undignified yet funny Psyduck. As expected from a duck Pokémon, it has teal webbed feet, which is definitely for swimming.
Sprigatito
Sprigatito is a cat-like starter Pokémon. It has a body covered in pale green fur and some patches of fur in darker green color. If you love feline Pokémon, this is one of the finest choices. There is no question about its attractive facial feature, not to mention that its head is bigger than its body. It gives me the energy of a mini-Leafeon.
Like other grass-type Pokémon, it mostly gets its energy from the sun through photosynthesis. You will also notice the leaf-like darker fur structure on its face, highlighting its big shiny eyes. Another thing that you will love about this Pokémon is its tail, which is not only fluffy but also fragrant.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Types and Abilities
Here’s a table that shows a comparison among the three starter Pokémon of the newest Generation 9.
# | Fuecoco | Quaxly | Sprigatito |
Type | Fire | Water | Grass |
Classification | Crocodile | Duck | Feline |
Height | 0.4m | 0.5m | 0.4m |
Weight | 9.8 kg (21.6 lbs) | 6.1 kg (13.4 lbs) | 4.1 kg (9.4 lbs) |
Ability | Blaze | Torrent | Overgrow |
Blaze
Fuecoco is capable of using Blaze. It is an ability that intensifies the fire-type attack moves when the HP level is low. It means that the more you hit Fuecoco, the more it becomes formidable and strong.
Torrent
Quaxly is capable of using Torrent. It is an ability that boosts the water-type moves when the HP is low. It’s almost the same with Blaze; it’s just that this is the water version, and it’s not limited to attack moves.
Overgrow
Sprigatito is capable of using Overgrow. It is an ability that enhances grass-type moves, which are not limited to attack moves. Again almost the same with Blaze and Torrent; it’s just that this is the grass version.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Starter Evolutions (Assumed)
Many fans let their imaginations run wild when imagining what might the evolution of these starters look like. We’ll go over the base evolutions of the three starter Pokémon and the most popular fan-art evolutions.
Fuecoco Evolution:
Fuecoco | Litgarto | Suchili |
Type: Fire | Type: Fire | Type: Fire/Ghost |
Impression: Cute baby crocodile fire-type Pokémon. | Impression: This one looks tough, and it seems like its stomach can generate a massive amount of fire. | Impression: This is definitely not a crocodile-like Pokémon anymore; it’s more of a T-rex that is ready to beat you so hard with its thick hot tail. |
Quaxly Evolution:
Quaxly | Duckaneer | Admirgull |
Type: Water | Type: Water | Type: Water/Dark |
Impression: Cute baby duckling water-type Pokémon. | Impression: This one looks tough, and it seems like it can shoot off a considerable amount of water to injure its enemies. | Impression: This is definitely not a duck-like Pokémon anymore; it’s more of an Eagle that is ready to beat and lead the team to victory. Plus, the appearance gives me a western vibe. |
Sprigatito Evolution:
Sprigatito | Camewmile | Curmawl |
Type: Grass | Type: Grass | Type: Grass/Fairy |
Impression: Cute baby kitten grass-type Pokémon. | Impression: This one looks very obedient Pokémon, but it seems like its leech seed move will drain out its enemy’s HP. | Impression: This is more of a lion or a tiger look. There is just a weird feeling that the antennas give me. It feels like it is also a bug-type or something. Nonetheless, this one looks as tough as the legendary beasts. |
Conclusion
At this point, these are the assumed Pokémon Scarlet and Violet starters evolutions, and these are just an artist’s representation. It’s not the final design, as we have no idea what the evolutionary line of these Generation 9 starters will look like.
However, it won’t be long before we finally see Fuecoco, Quaxly, and Sprigatito’s evolutions as more information is revealed when Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is released!
