Fans of Saitama, rejoice! We have confirmation that One Punch Man season 3 is officially in development, and we will soon see more of the Caped Baldy and Garou in action.
The heart-stealing guy is back with another bang after the wait of almost three years. After producing two hit seasons, anime production for One Punch Man stopped for quite a long time. The manga is still ongoing, and it’s doing really good with each new chapter, so the fans were curious when the next season of One Punch anime would come out.
Season two wasn’t up to the mark and faced much criticism for the incomplete story. Still, it couldn’t stop the fans from wanting more of it after reading the terrific manga chapters, especially now that the amazing Human Monster Saga has officially concluded in the manga.
Fans almost lost hope after watching all the 24 released episodes! However, recent news was circulating about the One Punch Man season 3 release date. The official website of the anime surprised its fans by hinting at the release of its third season with a key visual art featuring Saitama and Garou.
Apart from the visual, no other details have been shared. On August 18, the creators announced plans to start the production of OPM 3. The visual teaser is designed by Mr. Kubota, the same man behind the character design in seasons 1 and 2.
There is no information regarding the studio. We all know that the first two seasons were produced by different studios, i.e., season 1 by Madhouse and season 2 By J.C Staff. So, we can’t predict any specific one for production.
Two seasons of One Punch Man covered the first 85 chapters, and the last few episodes of season 2 covered the beginning of the Monster Association Arc.
There are 170 manga chapters released so far at the time of writing this, and there is no prediction for the manga to end anytime soon. Expecting season 3 to cover the remaining chapters, starting from chapter 86, would be a lot. Besides, judging from the number of episodes of the first two seasons, the coming season might have 12 episodes as well.
What is One Punch Man Season 3 Release Date?
Though there is no official confirmation regarding its release date, One Punch Man season 3 will probably hit the screens at the end of next year. Season 2 didn’t end with the completion of the Monster Association Arc.
The arc starts with manga chapter 78 and ends with manga chapter 170. So, we can say that Season 3 will continue with this arc. As we know, it’s not possible to cover the whole arc in just 12 episodes but expecting more would be much. However, it will be a double bonus if the creators release 24 episodes and conclude the Monster Association Arc as a reward for the long wait.
What Is One Punch Man All About?
One Punch Man tells the story of a boy who often was considered weak. After being defeated by life and getting rejected from multiple job interviews, he encounters a villain who is looking for a boy. Usually, Saitama would just leave and save himself, but not this day. He is dejected after another rejection and thus decides to fight the monster.
Somehow, he manages to defeat the monster and win. This outcome makes him think he should become a hero, and thus he starts his training. He trains himself with such vigor and passion that he becomes the strongest. In fact, he trained so hard that all his hair fell off, and he went completely bald.
Because Saitama trained to the limits one can never imagine, he reached a level that enabled him to defeat every enemy with a single punch. This is no doubt an achievement, but this is what adds humor to the action and superhero-based story. Since Saitama can now defeat anyone, he doesn’t feel the thrill of battle and is in a constant state of boredom.
With each passing event, Saitama encounters different dangers and eventually wins with his enhanced strength. Humanity should be thankful for Saitama! And we should be grateful to “ONE,” the author of the original webcomic, for creating such a fun story and introducing a source of happiness in our lives.
Season 1 covered the first 37 chapters, while season 2 covered the remaining chapters till 85. 14 arcs have been covered so far in the two seasons. In the coming season, we can expect some crazy moments of Saitama vs. Garou; there will be action and drama combined with humor, as usual.
