One Piece is one of the most beloved anime series on the planet, so it’s only natural that there will be many movies set in the same universe after all. And there are! There are a total of 15 films released so far, and in this article, we will go through all the One Piece movies in order of their release date!
If you are trying to find out everything you can about One Piece movies, then I will assume that you are already a fan of anime. You must have watched the anime or read the manga, which is why you now want to watch the movies. That was my reason when I first started watching the films, so I created this list to help you in your quest to watch every single film set in the One Piece universe.
One Piece anime is a long-running series with more than 1000 episodes, and it is still ongoing. At the rate the story is progressing, I am sure there will be at least 400 to 500 more episodes before it finally comes to an end.

But let’s not forget about today’s topic. We are here to talk about the One Piece movies, so let’s get started without wasting more time!
All One Piece Movies in Order (2023)
1. One Piece: The Movie (2000)
The first One Piece movie was released in 2000 and was all about treasure hunting! The story is about a legendary pirate, Woonan, who plundered one-third of the world’s gold and hid it on a secret island.
The Straw Hat Pirates are on their journey toward the Grand Line when they are robbed by a group of bandits. These bandits are looking for the secret island and loot all the gold from there, but the Straw Hats are on their tail. Their objective is not just to recover their own treasure but also to discover the lost island and lay claim to Woonan’s treasure.
2. One Piece: Clockwork Island Adventure (2001)
The second film in the series, Clockwork Island Adventure, was released in 2001, and it once again features Luffy and his crew getting robbed.
This time, Going Merry, the ship of Straw Hat Pirates, is stolen by the Trump siblings. The siblings have set up their base on Clockwork island. Luffy, along with his crew, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji, have to go to the island and battle through all the enemies and obstacles to reclaim their ship and continue their journey.
3. One Piece: Chopper’s Kingdom on the Island of Strange Animals (2002)
The third film in the series, Chopper’s Kingdom on the Island of Strange Animals, was released in 2002, and it puts focus on Tony Tony Chopper, the newest member of the Straw Hat Pirates.
In the film, the crew comes upon a new island called Crown Island, where all the animals can talk. However, their ship is thrown by a geyser, leading to Chopper getting separated from the entire crew. He winds up on this island, and thanks to the perfect timing of his appearance, the island’s inhabitants make Chopper their new king.
However, other than the crew, there are other human hunters on the island who are looking for the legendary horns, an item rumored to give the person who eats it unimaginable power. And so, Chopper and his crew must stop them from destroying the island and its inhabitants.
4. One Piece: Dead End Adventure (2003)
The fourth installment in One Piece movies in order is the movie titled Dead End Adventure, and it’s all about pirates and money!
In the movie, the Straw Hat Pirates arrives at the harbor of Anabaru, where they find out that a local casino is holding a competition with a huge monetary reward. After listening to this, Nami immediately decides to participate, and the other crew members are also excited to be part of it because they will compete against several other pirates.
However, there’s a conspiracy going on behind the scenes. The mastermind of the competition is Gasparde, an ex-military commander who plans to send all the pirates to their deaths.
5. One Piece: The Curse of the Sacred Sword (2004)
Zoro is the first member of the Straw Hat Pirates and one of the most important members of the crew. And this fifth movie in One Piece, The Curse of the Sacred Sword, is about Zoro.
The crew heads to an island searching for a legendary sword, but all hell breaks loose. The crew gets separated, and Zoro betrays the crew to help an old friend. Meanwhile, Luffy and Usopp wander through a cave while the remaining crew helps the village fight against the attacking marines.
There’s also an all-out fight between Zoro and Sanji, and there’s an evil sword in the story that needs to be tamed, and who better to do it than our very own Zoro!
6. One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island (2005)
The sixth One Piece movie, Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island, was released in 2005, and it revolves around the Straw Hat crew on an island resort.
Upon finding an advertisement about Omatsuri island, the only recreational resort on the Grand Line, Luffy and crew set a course for it to relax and enjoy its facilities. But when they reach there, they are told that they’d have to take part in a series of challenges, dubbed “Ordeals of Hell,” to enjoy the resort’s facilities.
However, the longer they stay on the island, the more problems surface. And strange events begin to occur as the Straw Hat crew members find themselves fighting each other!
7. One Piece: Giant Mecha Soldier of Karakuri Castle (2006)
The seventh installment in One Piece movies in order, The Giant Mecha Soldier of Karakuri Castle, was released in 2006.
The Straw Hat Pirates find a treasure chest from a sinking ship, and when they open it hoping to find the treasure within, they find an old lady instead. The lady wants to return home, so she offers Luffy and his crew a great reward if they help her get to Mecha Island, which is her home.
When the crew reaches the island, they are attacked by Dr. Ratchet, the island’s lord. However, he decides to use the Straw Hats to help him solve the riddle of the Mecha Island and trick them into serving his purpose.
8. The Desert Princess and the Pirates: Adventures in Alabasta (2007)
This particular One Piece movie is a retelling of one of the most popular One Piece arcs, the Alabasta arc!
Monkey D. Luffy and his crew travel to Alabasta along with Princess Vivi, where they find the kingdom in the middle of a revolution. Sir Crocodile, hailed as the kingdom’s hero, has used nefarious means to undermine the people’s trust in Nefertari Cobra, the king of Alabasta, and wants to snatch the throne for himself.
The Straw Hats find themselves in a fight against Crocodile and his organization, Baroque Works, and realize that these are the strongest opponents they have faced in their journey!
9. Episode of Chopper Plus: Bloom in the Winter, Miracle Cherry Blossom (2008)
Once again, this One Piece movie retells another arc in the story. However, there are a few changes made to make it unique!
Nami has fallen ill, and the Straw Hats head to Drum Island to find a doctor who can treat her. But there’s only one doctor on the whole island, and she lives a reclusive life on the top of a mountain. So, Luffy undertakes an arduous journey, with Nami in tow, to reach the mountain and have her treat Nami’s ailments.
But there are enemies just waiting to make matters worse. With the help of Tony Tony Chopper, who later joins the crew, the Straw Hats overcome all the obstacles and not just get Nami the treatment she needs but also prevent Drum Island from falling under the rule of a tyrannical king.
What makes this movie different is that in the original version, the Straw Hats were accompanied by Princess Vivi. However, she’s not present in the film. Instead, there is Franky and Robin in the crew!
10. One Piece Film: Strong World (2009)
This is the tenth One Piece film, and Eiichiro Oda himself wrote it in honor of One Piece’s Tenth Anniversary. One Piece Film: Strong World is set between the Thriller Bark Arc and the Sabaody Archipelago Arc!
Upon hearing the news that the East Blue is in danger, the Straw Hats decide to head back to investigate. However, a mysterious pirate ship appears in the sky. They are greeted by Golden Lion Shiki, an infamous and powerful pirate whose name is included alongside Gol D. Roger and Whitebeard. Shiki abducts Nami for her excellent navigational skills while he sends the rest of the crew to his many floating islands.
The crew, now separated, finds themselves in a mysterious terrain that Shiki completely controls. They have to fight and find a way back so that they can save Nami, foil whatever Shiki is planning, and save East Blue in the process!
11. One Piece 3D: Straw Hat Chase (2011)
This is the 11th One Piece movie and the final movie set before the time skip. Also, Straw Hat Chase is the first movie in the series released in 3D CGI.
The movie is all about Luffy’s straw hat. One day he wakes up and finds it missing, so the entire crew tries to locate Luffy’s precious hat. When Luffy sees a bird holding the hat, the team gives it a chase, but they are welcomed by unexpected obstacles, such as Marines and Sea Kings.
12. One Piece Film: Z (2012)
The 12th movie in One Piece movies in order, One Piece Film: Z, is the first movie set after the time skip, so you see the characters using Haki in the film.
The film focuses on Z, a former Marine Admiral, who is trying to use the Dyna Stones, weapons said to be comparable to Ancient Weapons, to shake up the world and bring an end to the pirating era. Now, ending the pirate era and getting rid of all the pirates is a good thing, but Z’s method means that many innocents will also die. So, the Marines decide to take action and stop Z from enacting his plans.
Meanwhile, Luffy and his crew also come in contact with Z, and it’s all amicable at first. However, as soon as Z discovers they are a pirate crew, things go south. And when the Straw Hats find out what Z is planning, they decide to stop him, even if it means facing the Marines too!
13. One Piece Film: Gold (2016)
The 13th movie in the series, One Piece Film: Gold, is set in Gran Tesoro, a large ship carrying the biggest entertainment city in the world.
This city is an “absolute sanctuary” that not even the World Government can touch, so famous pirates, millionaires, and even Marines gather here to try their luck at the casinos. The Straw Hat crew arrives in the city and heads to the casino, where they go on a winning streak.
So, when Gild Tesoro, the master of the city, offers them a special gamble, the crew agrees to it, believing in the endless luck that has served them so well till now. However, things go south when the crew realizes they have been victims of an elaborate scam. Plus, there’s something sinister at play as Gild Tesoro is planning something that would result in significant changes in the New World!
14. One Piece: Stampede (2019)
The 14th film in the series, One Piece: Stampede, is one of the most recent movies in the entire series, as it was released in 2019.
The film begins with Luffy and the Straw Hats arriving at the Pirates Festival, a celebration created by and for pirates. Buena Festa, the festival organizer, has invited all the big names to participate in the celebration. There are marines, the Shichibukai, the Worst Generation crews, and several other pirate crews. To make things interesting, there’s a contest at the celebration – find one of the treasures Gol D. Roger left behind.
All the crews present there are pumped up and giving it their all to win the contest. However, things become more dangerous when a powerful new foe appears in front of them.
15. One Piece Film: Red (2022)
The 15th installment in the series, and the latest of all One Piece movies, One Piece Film: Red, was released in 2022. Manga creator Eiichiro Oda served as the film’s general producer and supervisor.
The film’s story takes place on the “Island of Music,” where Uta, the world’s most fabulous diva, is holding her first-ever live concert. She will be revealing herself for the first time to the public. And so, the Straw Hats, several pirate crews, and even the Marines have gathered to be a part of the concert and witness Uta and her otherworldly voice.
But that can’t be the whole movie, right? The story truly begins when it’s revealed that Uta is actually the daughter of Shanks, one of the Emperors of the Sea.
