Saint Saturn’s arrival raised questions about his newfound transformation. Most likely, from the awakening of his devil fruit, he was looking more vital than ever before. Despite his intimidating looks, Booney did not hesitate for a second and stabbed Saint Saturn in his chest.

One Piece Chapter 1096 Expectations:
The chapter begins with the Marines retreating and keeping a distance from Saint Saturn while avoiding looking directly at him. Everyone still seems to be in disbelief that one of the five elders made their way to this island.
Upon seeing that Bonney stabbed Saint Saturn, some admirals point their guns at her, ready to shoot. But Saturn stops them, claiming that he would’ve avoided it if he wanted to dodge. Saturn grabs Bonney from one hand and removes the sword from the other, and the wound completely disappears.
Saint Saturn instructs the Marines to hold their positions and converses with Kizaru, expressing his disappointment. In response, Kizaru offers an apology. As Luffy is responsible for Kizaru’s condition, Saint Saturn moves one of his legs to crush Luffy. Franky swiftly pushes Luffy out of harm’s way, saving his life.
Saint Saturn claimed they are currently stuck in a desperate situation, and he would like to see how they might try to escape. He then expresses his disappointment in Vegapunk and asks the Straw hat crew about the order they’d like to die in as a punishment for rebellion against the world government.
Saturn squeezes Bonney tightly in his arms; the members of Straw Hat cannot help her as Saturn’s devil fruit powers paralyze them. Booney expresses that her anger is due to Saturn killing her father. To which Saturn replies that her father was a member of a slave cast, the last survivor of the Buccaneer people.
The chapter then shifts to a flashback of Sorbet Kingdom 47 years ago. A baby named Bartholomew Kuma was born. His parents were a Buccaneer man named Clapp and a human woman. This secret gets leaked, which causes them to be captured by the World Government and enslaved to the core.
One day, Kuma’s father informs him about his mother’s death, which results in Kuma getting completely depressed. To give him some ray of hope, his father tells him about a Warrior of Liberation called Nika and that one day he will surely help them. They have to endure the pain until that day arrives.
Years later, the island’s entire population and troublesome enslaved people will be eradicated in a brutal World Noble tournament on God Valley in West Blue. The World Nobles aims to seize the island’s rich resources. The King tries to stop them but is killed by the hands of Figarland Garling.
Attending the event, Saturn learns that Kumar was arrested along with other enslaved people seeking freedom after trying to escape. These runaways warned Kuma that running away would lead to more slave murders. At the right time, Emporio Ivankov and Ginny intervene, acknowledging the Giant bloodline of the Buccaneer Tribe. The chapter ends with Ivankov expressing his determination to survive and questions whether Kuma shares the same resolve.
