After a wait of a long month, Dragon Ball Super Chapter 97 has arrived. However, the whole point of the manga is to adapt the Superhero arc and officially make it canon. If you’re unfamiliar, this arc was already adapted in the Dragon Ball Superhero movie, which was recently released.
Dragon Ball Chapter 98 is set to be released in the next issue of V-Jump magazine, following the monthly schedule. It will continue the epic Superhero saga of Dragon Ball Super.
The previous chapter of the series ended by introducing the current arc’s main villain, Dr. Hedo’s masterpiece and experiment, Cell Max. As Gohan and Piccolo are tired after fighting Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, Trunks and Goten have arrived at the scene. Trunks and Goten have transformed into Sayianmen and set off to fight Cell Max.
Although the manga is currently adapting an older arc, it is indeed making some minor changes that are affecting the plot, and that’s why it is worth keeping up with the manga, as these small changes are pretty interesting to see and what they will lead up to.
Dragon Ball Super Chapter 98 Release Date:
Waiting for a month can be pretty hectic for everyone, but Toriyama and Toyatoru-sensei can keep the story’s pace stable and conclude it at their best. Dragon Ball Super chapter 98 is set to be released on October 20, 2023, continuing to adapt the rest of the remaining arc.
Dragon Ball Super is officially available to read through Viz Media’s website and the MangaPlus app.
Dragon Ball Super Chapter 98 Expectations:
The fight between Saiyanmen and Cell Max begins, and it seems Trunks and Goten are having trouble fighting against the potent enemy. Piccolo doubts whether they will be able to beat Cell Max, but as soon as he tries to eat the Senzu bean, Bulma tells him Trunks and Goten were grounded for over half a year, so their abilities aren’t polished like before.
Before Piccolo gets down to help Goten and Trunks with their fight against Cell Max, they both convince him they’re fine as they haven’t even transformed into Super Saiyan yet. After recovering from Cell Max’s attack, both Saiyanmen turn into super saiyan and land a good amount of hits on Cell Max. After he gets knocked down, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 arrive to assist them in fighting against Cell Max and end the fight early.
Pairing up to land a heavy attack, the Gammas and Saiyanmen combine to land a powerful hurricane attack on Cell Max that sends him flying a mile away and getting smashed into a wall. Piccolo and Gohan are surprised by their efforts. However, Cell Max recovers in no time, teleports behind Gammas and Saiyanmen, and goes on a rampage. Attacking them from everywhere, Cell Max has changed the tides of the battle.
Seeing the formidable enemy, Goten and Trunks initiate their fusion to become Gotenks, but they slip by a small margin and become the bloated version of Gotenks. Unable to fight, Piccolo and Trunks return to the battlefield to help Gotenks. Gamma 1 and 2 expose Cell Max’s weakness, destroying his head. With everyone now aiming at his head, Cell Max still manages to dodge them and goes berserk with his tail. Pan runs towards the battlefield, thinking they have defeated Cell Max, but she is wrong.
Cell Max’s tail is blasting off lasers everywhere, but somehow, Pan manages to dodge them, and Krillin takes her away just in time. The chapter ends with everyone hiding from Cell Max and Gamma 2 heading to save Dr. Hedo as he is still alive, and he is the only person in this place who knows how to control Cell Max.
In the next chapter, we can expect the Gammas to save Dr. Hedo and everyone interrogating him to churn out the information about disabling or killing Cel Max for good. Besides Dr. Hedo, the reveal of Beast Gohan is right around the corner.
Conclusion
Dragon Ball Super chapter 98 is set to be released in the next issue of V-J ump’s November issue, which is scheduled to be released on October 20, 2023.
