After the insane success of the first season, blowing every other anime out of the water with its peculiar aspects, Wistoria: Wand and Sword is receiving its anticipated second season!

At Anime Expo 2025, it was announced that Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2 is officially in production. Furthermore, a 2026 release date has been announced for the upcoming season.

Originally published as a manga by the mastermind behind “Danmachi,” commonly known as “Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon,” Fujino Omori, with illustrations by Toshi Aoi, Wistoria: Wand and Sword made its debut as an anime in July 2024.

To celebrate completing one year, the first anniversary visual for the TV anime was also revealed, along with the announcement of the second season’s release date.

Although the anime’s sequel is expected to return sometime in 2026, a specific release date has not been revealed. In fact, the makers haven’t shared any key visuals or a teaser trailer. However, the reveal of the release date is enough to generate the hype because this anime was one of the standout series last year!

Bandai Namco and Studio Actas did an excellent job animating the first season, but it has not yet been confirmed if they will return for the upcoming season.

What is Wistoria: Wand And Sword Anime About?

Wistoria: Wand and Sword follows the story of Will Serfort, who has always been a keen follower of magic and decides to join one of the prestigious magical academies to learn about magic and become a great sorcerer to protect his loved ones.

However, his dream falls short as he realizes he has no magic potential and cannot cast even the simplest spells.

This makes him one of the most disliked people in the academy, and he receives cold stares from each of his classmates and instructors, making him uncomfortable and discouraged.

Still, he decides to move on from his magic disability and picks up a sword to fight against the monsters in a dungeon, in a world where magic is prominent.

Remembering a promise he made to his loved one, his unwavering determination allows him to continue through the harsh times, and without magic, he still tries to reach the top.
