After waiting a month, we finally have Dragon Ball Super chapter 96. With it, it was announced that the Dragon Ball Super chapter 97 release date would be, fortunately, following the regular monthly release schedule; in short, the next chapter is a month away. It is set to release with V-Jump’s next issue.
Although Dragon Ball is one of history’s best-selling and most respected series, things are not looking clear for Dragon Ball Super. The ratings and viewership of Dragon Ball Super are subsequently falling with each released chapter.
The current arc of Dragon Ball Super, i.e., The Super Hero arc, was already covered in the recently released movie called “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero,” currently, the manga is adapting the movie.
Despite the inferior ratings and losing viewership, Dragon Ball Super manga has added more information to the points to fill the plot holes, and of course, eye-pleasing action and art by Toyatoru. It seems that Piccolo has finally received the most anticipated and deserving power-up in Dragon Ball, and the arrival of Cell Max makes it more iconic.
The chapter ended with Goten and Trunks transforming into Saiyanmen and getting ready for the battle against Cell Max.
Dragon Ball Super Chapter 97 Release Date:
After leaving us on the cliffhanger on the initiation of the fight between Saiyanmen, i.e., Trunks and Goten, and Cell Max, the release date for Dragon Ball Super chapter 97 is set for 20 September 2023. The intense battle between Cell Max and The Cleanup Heroes will begin in the next chapter.

The next chapter of Dragon Ball Super will quite possibly contain the fight scenes between Trunks and Goten against Cell Max. And within a few chapters, we will get something the fans have been waiting for in the manga.
Dragon Ball Super Chapter 97 Expectations:
Although there is not much to expect with the chapter except the fight between The Saiyamen and Cell Max, there is something about to be revealed soon if the manga follows the identical sequences as the movie released before.
Chapter 96 of Dragon Ball Super begins with Trunks and Goten talking to Bulma and on their way to help Gohan and Piccolo with the fight against the Gamma androids that Dr. Hedo created. The chapter cuts back to Piccolo, who was knocked momentarily by Gamma 2, but this time he’s back on his feet. Although he’s back on his feet, something feels different.
Piccolo has finally received his major deserving power-up, and he is now called “Orange Piccolo” with God-level Ki. Gamma 2 then rushes to attack Piccolo; however, Piccolo doesn’t even flinch at his attacks. Now it’s Piccolo’s turn, and he punches Gamma 2 in the midsection, causing him to fly far away. Using this as a distraction, Pan frees herself and begins attacking Dr. Hedo’s goons.
Magenta tries to shoot Pan, but fortunately, Gamma 1 shoots Magenta’s hand to make him drop his gun, and he finally realizes who is the bad guy and who is good. Now that both sides have overcome the misunderstandings, Piccolo stops Gohan from fighting. Now that his actions are exposed, Dr. Hedo runs to his trump card, Cell Max, to activate him.
However, a fight between Magenta and Dr. Hedo breaks out, and while they’re fighting, Magenta accidentally breaks the console of Cell Max’s chamber. Later on, Bulma, Trunks, and Goten arrive at the scene. Everyone is rejoicing as the battle is finally over, but something shocking is about to come.
Dr. Hedo is trying to stop Cell Max’s chamber from exploding, but he’s late. Thus, arrives Dr. Hedo’s masterpiece, Cell Max.
Cell Max is a more robust and giant version of Cell. Everyone is getting ready to fight against Cell Max. Piccolo drops a Senzu bean for Gohan but accidentally drops it in a hole. Now out of the fight, Goten and Trunks take place for Piccolo and Gohan. The chapter ends with both of them turning into Sayiamen and on their way to fight Cell Max.
Chapter 97 of Dragon Ball Super will focus on the fight between Saiyamen and Cell Max. If the manga wholly follows the movie, we will be welcomed by yet another transformation in Dragon Ball Super. Gohan will get his deserved power-up, “Beast Gohan,” in the following chapters of Dragon Ball Super.
