Spy x Family Chapter 89 Expectations:
Now that Damian has acquired the finest tea cakes, all left is to hand them over to Anya. However, this is no ordinary task, as he must ensure no one else sees him while he repays his debt. Damian is constantly followed by Emile and Ewen, while, on the other hand, Anya is always with Becky. It will be a challenging task for him.
Thanks to her telepathic abilities, Anya catches a glimpse of what Damian is planning. Damian struggles in class as he thinks of how to hand them to her. Watching how much he’s struggling, Anya decides to help him in her own way and requests Becky to arrange some alone time with Damian, which Becky completely misunderstands.
Anya instructs Damian to meet her in the courtyard by writing it on paper. Still, her handwriting looks so malicious that Emile and Ewen misinterpret it, believing it to be a challenge of a duel. Damian, thinking this might be a good opportunity, accepts her invitation.
Damian and Anya order the others not to follow them and make their way to the courtyard. Still, curiosity gets the best of Becky, Emile, and Ewen, and all three hide at a safe distance to observe every moment.
Damian and Anya try their best to shake them off by running around the school, but those three don’t give up. This whole situation makes Damian frustrated. As he walks away, giving up on repaying his debt, Anya reads his thoughts and lunges at him, grabbing his arm. The whole point of this move was not to let him leave without giving her the cake.
This surprises Damian, and he inquires about why she did that. In response, Anya claims that she wants to be his friend (to get the cake). Damian notices all three of them have left. Seeing this perfect opportunity, as he was about to hand over the cake, Teacher Henry appeared, spotted it, and confiscated it. He orders them both to meet him after school.
Anya and Damian visit his room, and after writing an apology, he invites them for some tea and offers the exact cake he had confiscated earlier. Anya enjoys the cake thoroughly, while Damian thinks about how her mother helped him acquire these cakes.
After conversing, they reminisce about when Anya clung to Damian, asking to be his friend. The chapter concludes with Damian blushing and Anya taking back her proposal of being friends with Damian.
