Xenoblade Chronicles is arguably one of the most popular RPG game series Nintendo has to offer and now it’s coming with a sequel! The new game, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was officially announced at the E3, during Nintendo’s press conference. The game was first revealed back in January along with the launch of the Nintendo Switch, but the official details were made known only during the E3.
The original game, Xenoblade Chronicles was launched for Nintendo Wii back in 2012. Xenoblade Chronicles 2, unlike the name suggests, will not take off after the original series. It will have similarities and an eventually connected story line, but it’s not a direct follow-up. The game will be set in a world that will be similar to the one present in the previous version, but there will be a lot more controls and features this time.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 promises to pack a wide variety of landscapes, quests and a range of foes to eliminate. When it comes to visuals, we can see an obvious change in the character design this time, with the characters resembling a lot to Japanese anime characters. We probably have the new character designer, Masatsugu Saito to thank for that.
The game is scheduled to launch for the Nintendo Switch before the end of year, during the holiday season in 2017.
