The chapter 918 of One Piece is finally out and if you haven’t read it and don’t want to get spoiled, then please read the manga chapter first before reading this article. This post contains a lot of spoilers for the current chapter and we will be discussing what’s going to happen in the upcoming One Piece chapter 919 as well!
After a few silent chapters in the beginning, things have finally started getting interesting in the Wano Country because after Luffy made landfall in the samurai land, every plan the gang had have been thrown out. The current chapter 918 began from the same point that the previous chapter ended, Luffy destroying Holdem with a single Red Hawk and he completely decimated him. Holdem is not getting up and is out for good and seeing the opportunity, Luffy grabs a hold of O-Tama and starts escaping. Thinking that Headliner Speed is just another horse, he jumps on her and when he finds out that she’s half-human/half-horse, he tells O-Tama to tame her using her powers. Surprisingly, it works and now Luffy and O-Tama are sitting on the back of Speed and she’s taking them to safety.
That’s not all as Zoro and O-Kiku are just ahead of the duo and carrying the provisions to Okobure town. On the way, we see that Basil Hawkins and Trafalgar Law are engaged in battle, and Hawkins recognizes Law under his disguise because he uses his Devil Fruit powers. After a brief battle, Law jumps on the provisions ship, when it passes by them and starts shouting at Zoro for ruining their plan.
Luffy, along with his companions, make it to the Okobure town and give all the fresh food and water to the residents there so that they can finally eat something that’s not leftovers. Moreover, O-Tama thinks Luffy is just like Ace as he not only uses his attacks, but also shares the same philosophies as he says the same thing that Ace told her.
By the end of the chapter, Oda-sensei left us with yet another cliffhanger as he revealed that Law is going to take Luffy to the ruins of Oden Castle and meet the seven ghosts of the Wano Country. The chapter ends with a panel showing a graveyard with 8 stone pillars with a lot of familiars name on it like Kozuki Oden, Kozuki Momonosuke and one other Kozuki member along with retainers Kinemon, Raizou and other unknown names.
One Piece Chapter 919 Spoilers, Predictions
The ending of the chapter mentioned that Law is going to reveal an unbelievable truth of the Wano Kingdom, and Zoro even said that he didn’t believe it when he learned about it.
The stone pillars at the graveyard suggests that all of them are dead. It makes sense that Kozuki Oden might be dead, but what about Momonosuke, Kinemon and Raizou? Why do they have stone pillars with their names on it. One explanation is that most of the people faked their deaths to escape Kaido, the Shogun and their forces and made them believe that they all died along with Kozuki Oden. However, Momonosuke is just 8 years old, so how could he fake his death 20 years ago.
There’s something weird going on as we’ve not just seen these characters, but they were an integral part of the story starting from the Punk Hazard arc. If they were not quite active within the story, then there was a possibility that they were in fact ghosts; but that doesn’t make any sense now.
What I do think right now is that the stone pillars were carved only recently, or a few years ago and every single person with their name on the stone pillar are alive, including Kozuki Oden. He might be held captive by Kaido or the Shogun, or he might have escaped and living his life hidden waiting for the right opportunity to show himself.
So, it’s still too early to predict what’s going to happen next, as this was something that none of us expected. We just need to wait for the upcoming chapter 919 for Oda-sensei to reveal the “unbelievable truth” of the Wano Kingdom and how it will affect the pirate alliance’s plans to take down Kaido!
