After the break last week, One Piece is back with yet another amazing chapter that leaves us asking for more. If you’ve read it, then let’s talk about what to expect from the upcoming One Piece 918 and release date of the chapter!
Since the chapter’s out for only some time, you may not have read it. If that’s the case, then do read the chapter first to not spoil any plot points by reading this article. With that being said, I would like to say that the latest chapter of One Piece marked the beginning of the Wano arc in its true sense and we’ll only see more epic moments from this point forward.
The chapter begins by showing the difference between the rich and the poor, the subordinates of Kaidou and the villagers, as the former have access to the cleanest water and the best food. We were also introduced to another headliner of the Beast Pirates, Speed, who is a SMILE devil fruit user that gives her the abilities and the appearance of a horse. She’s in charge of taking all the food supplies back into the Bakura town.
Meanwhile, in Bakura town, Holdem still has O-Tama and Luffy, Zoro and O-Kiku are trying to save her. They are successful when Luffy uses his insane speed to free O-Tama and Zoro and O-Kiku destroy the Beast Pirates and steal all the food. However, Luffy is enraged upon seeing the injuries on O-Tama’s cheeks and he goes back and one-shots Holdem using the Red Hawk attack.
One Piece 918 Spoilers – What’s Going to Happen?
The upcoming chapter will either be filled with multiple confrontations, as anticipated, or it will simply focus on Luffy and team escaping with the food.
However, since Luffy’s already punched Holdem and is really angry at the moment, it’s possible that he will stay behind to fight against Holdem’s subordinates as well as Speed, while Zoro and O-Kiku will take O-Tama and the food and make a clean escape. It’s possible that Holdem hasn’t been knocked out and will likely get back up, and then there’s Speed as well to keep Luffy busy.
On the other side of the town, Trafalgar Law has intercepted Basil Hawkins, however the latter doesn’t recognize him but knows that he’s strong. Law doesn’t want Hawkins to go towards all the commotion since he already knows that Luffy’s there and would like to keep Hawkins away from him. If this confrontation ends up in a battle between two of the Supernovas, Law will end up revealing his identity as he’ll have to use his Devil Fruit abilities to take care of Hawkins otherwise there’s not enough chance of winning. So, he’s likely going to take a more non-violent approach and handle the situation differently.
Also, as mentioned in the chapter 917, the Kuri town is controlled by Jack The Drought, which means that beating up his subordinates means taunting him. As Luffy has already declared a fight with the pirates, Jack is likely going to show up in the next few chapters. This also confirms that he is out of the sea and very much alive, as O-Kiku told that he’d been sighted in the town just a few days ago. We’ll likely see some of his subordinates rushing over to his location to let him know what happened in the Bakura town.
As much as I want to see Luffy fighting Jack and showing off his new powers of advanced observation haki, I would prefer Zoro to take over and at least show a glimpse of how powerful he’s gotten since the time skip. As we all know, Zoro hasn’t faced any powerful opponents after training, as he defeated Pica with ease as well, so this might be a great opportunity to see how much the vice captain has grown. And of course, Luffy will have the main course, as he will be fighting Kaido in the climatic battle!
One Piece 918 Release Date
Since there is no break next week, you can expect the new chapter to drop at the same time as scheduled and you can read it on Viz. The scanlations, however, are released a few days prior to the official release, so you can read the chapter 918 by Thursday or Friday next week or wait for the official release which will be only a few days away.
