My Hero Academia has slowly, but surely, become one of the biggest anime franchises of recent times and rightly so. If you’ve been a fan of the show and have enjoyed all it’s seasons and story arcs, then you’d be delighted to know that My Hero Academia season 4 has been confirmed and will be returning next year!
The third season of the show ended on a positive note as it introduced 3 new characters – Mirio Togata, Nejire Hado and Tamaki Amajiki – who were revealed to be “The Big 3” of UA High School. Moreover, it was also revealed that Mirio was considered as the top contender for the number one hero, even among the pros and that’s proof enough of how strong he really is. The finale episode featured a showdown where the entire Class 1A went against Mirio Togata who was able to overwhelm them completely and defeated them within a few seconds. Although, the season finale wasn’t some big showdown between the heroes and the villains, as you’d expect from any show, it most certainly wasn’t disappointing either.
The season 3 did drop a lot of bombs on fans during the mid-season episodes as there was an explosive battle between All Might and All For One, and the retirement of All Might sent shockwaves throughout the fandom. If you were shocked by that, then you are in for a real treat as the season 4 of Boku no Hero Academia is going to bring a ton of new information and plot details on the table!

My Hero Academia Season 4 – Plot Details
An announcement video has already confirmed that the season 4 of the show is already under production, and it also featured a montage of your favorite characters along with the Big 3 and the villain for the upcoming season, Overhaul.
You can check out the video announcement below:
If you are ready to learn more about the upcoming season, then let’s get on right into it. As All Might is completely out of his power, we aren’t going to see him in any real action any more. However, he is still very much a part of the story as more characters from his past are going to reveal themselves in the new season.
This is going to have a huge impact on Izuku as he’ll be learning new things about his own power and also that he wasn’t really the successor for “One for All”. We all know that the reason why All Might became a teacher at UA was to find out a worthy student who could inherit his powers and become the next ‘symbol of hope’ and then Deku came out of nowhere, impressed All Might with his conviction and inherited his quirk. However, you’ll all be surprised when it’s revealed who was chosen as a successor, and how it’s going to affect Deku when he learns about that person’s identity!
That’s surely going to be one of the biggest plot points of the season 4, but it’s also worth noting that Deku and co., along with the Big 3 are going to encounter a really powerful villain. We’ve already seen a glimpse of him in the season 3 finale when he met with Tomura Shigaraki and the League of Villains. The villain, Overhaul, is going to give a lot of troubles to our budding heroes and it will also lead up to one of the best fights in the series.
Will There Be New Character Introductions in Boku no Hero Academia Season 4?
If you are wondering about this, then let me just give you a quick answer without revealing a lot. There are going to be a bunch of new character introductions in the show, on both the hero sides as well as the villain sides.
Now, if you are an avid manga reader, then you’d already have a pretty fair idea about which people I am talking about, but if you are just an anime watcher and want to stay that way, then please be patient as it is going to be awesome when the next season drops.
Also, we’ve already seen what Mirio Togata can do, but we still don’t know anything about the quirks of the other 2, Nejire Hado and Tamaki Amajiki. We only know their personality types as one’s outspoken while the other freezes in front of people! The season 4 of the show is not only going to focus on the Class 1A, but will also feature in the other heroes heavily because the students have now gotten their provisional licenses and will be accompanying pro heroes in real missions, apprehending real criminals.
My Hero Academia Season 4 Release Date
The production is underway and the official announcement was made during the season finale, so there’s no doubt that season 4 is on it’s way. However, there’s been no word on the exact release date of the show.
However, if you take a look at the previous seasons and their release schedule, we can take a wild guess and say that the season 4 will likely premiere around April 2019. That’s a fair guess considering that the season runs for 20+ episodes only and will wrap up at about the same time the recent season did. So, what do you think about the release date of the upcoming season? Do you think April next year is a fair estimate?
That was all the information we have at the moment regarding the upcoming My Hero Academia season 4, and we can’t get into more detail or we’ll end up spoiling the story. So, do let us know what expectations do you have with the upcoming season and how pumped you are to see the heroes back in action!
