Bleach was one of the most popular and best-selling manga series by Tite Kubo, but by the time it came to a conclusion, it managed to go downhill in terms of popularity. There are a lot of reasons why that happened, and one of the biggest issues I have with the author is that he never revealed Ichigo’s True Bankai, during the final arc.
The final arc of the story, the Thousand Year Blood War arc, pitted the Soul Society against Emperor Yhwach and his forces. Although the story was never animated and adopted to the anime, the manga readers know that Ichigo’s real Bankai never made it to the screens.
We all know that Ichigo went on to become really good with his Zanpakutō, even achieving Bankai in a short amount of time that shocked most of the captains; but Tensa Zangetsu isn’t actually his real Bankai. So, if you were planning on checking out Jump Force and wanted more reasons, then you’ve got one more as Ichigo, along with Rukia and Aizen, have been revealed to be playable characters in the game.
What’s more exciting is that you will see Ichigo in completely new clothes, something only manga readers will recognize, as he is donning his Shinigami attire from the Thousand Year Blood War arc along with his brand-new, and real Zanpakutō. Weekly Shonen Jump was the one who confirmed this news, and YonkouProd shared it with the world!
Ichigo will be in jump force, and a particular dude will appear when you play as him. Also Rukia and Aizen are confirmed to appear. A new stage –Hong Kong is avaible, and Ichigo will take his appearance from the "Thousand Year Blood war" arc. pic.twitter.com/ju4Xa1ejZP

What is Ichigo’s True Bankai?
If you are a fan of Bleach, then you’d already be familiar with Ichigo’s sword, the Zangetsu and its Bankai form called as Tensa Zangetsu. However, that’s not actually his real Bankai because it was more like a trick as he was led to believe that it was the real one.
During the final arc, Ichigo was trained by the Royal Guards at the Soul King Palace where he not only learned about his past, and who he actually is, but also gains his real Zanpakutō – two new swords for his Shikai representing his powers. He even learned how to use his real Bankai and all the fans were hyped to see Ichigo finally going all out with his real power against Yhwach, but the author performed the biggest a** pull in the history of a** pulls and never revealed what the Bankai actually was.
Why, you may ask? Because when Ichigo used it in his big battle against Yhwach, he immediately breaks it through the future using his power called “The Almighty” because he concluded that Ichigo’s real Bankai was a really fearsome attack. I know this sounds really confusing, but that’s actually what happened.
That’s how we never got to see Ichigo’s true Bankai even after the story was builtup for the ultimate reveal. However, now there seems to be some hope that we’ll be able to at least get a glimpse of what the Bankai really looks like!
This is one of the reasons why fans are awaiting the release of Jump Force because if the game has Ichigo from the Thousand Year Blood War arc, then he should have access to his never-seen-before Bankai. So, the game could be the platform to bring Ichigo’s true Tensa Zangetsu to life and show the lifelong Bleach fans how powerful it really was!
Have a look at the trailer below! The final moments of the trailer actually shows Ichigo in his Bankai form, so that’s a good sign!
