The EA Play event that was held prior to the E3 2017 in Los Angeles featured some top-tier games and revealed their gameplay trailers. One of the prominent titles included FIFA 18 and this time the most popular football game series will pack incredible new controls and modes for football fans across the gaming world to enjoy.
Just like its predecessor, FIFA 18 will feature the Journey mode, now aptly named as the Journey 2/’The Journey: Hunter returns’ that will have Alex Hunter as the protagonist. At the EA event the gameplay footage of FIFA 18 hinted that the Journey mode might be a lot better than the previous one with the prime focus on the role-playing sports experience aspect of the mode.
In the Journey 2 mode, we can expect a lot more customization options that the company believes will make the game a whole lot personal.
EA is also planning to have new motion technology to make the players feel more realistic than ever before. A video footage shown in the EA Play event of Cristiano Ronaldo in a suit full of data sensors to capture motion data is a proof of their undertaking. We will also be able to experience better visual graphics – better lighting and better stadiums.
FIFA 18 will feature, as expected, a list of football celebrities and players including the cover star, Cristiano Ronaldo himself. Players will be able to control individual footballers through the game mode.
Check out the trailer showcased on the EA Play Event at E3 yesterday:
As far as support for consoles are concerned, FIFA 18 will be made available to play on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. The company also revealed that the game will be available on Nintendo Switch as well, however because of the lack of the Frostbite Engine processor on the Nintendo Switch, the FIFA 18 version on the Nintendo Switch won’t have the Journey 2 mode. The game will still feature the Ultimate Team and a Career Mode, all at 1080p resolution.
As far as the price is concerned, the Standard Edition of FIFA 18 will cost US $60, the Ronaldo Edition US $80, and the Icon Edition US $100.
FIFA 18 is set to officially launch on September 29th this year but Ronaldo Edition and Icon Edition owners can get a three-day early access, while EA Access and Origin Access members can get 10-hours play time as part of the First Trial. FIFA 18 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC is up for pre-order and there are various editions to purchase.
