However, things take a much darker turn as both Subaru and Satella are brutally murdered only for Subaru to wake up to a familiar scene – confronted by the same thugs, getting saved by Satella and reliving everything once again.

Just like The Rising of the Shield Hero where the main character is summoned to a different world, How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord also focuses on the main character being summoned. But, here the main character gets to keep his gaming identity of the powerful Demon Lord, Diablo, while exploring the new fantasy world of Cross Reverie along with two companions. These two girls were responsible for summoning him in the first place and after a magic spell that got reflected, they became the slaves of the Demon Lord. It became quite popular when it first aired and after successfully finishing the first season, it’s considered as good title in the isekai genre as well as in the ecchi genre because there’s quite a lot of fan-service shown in the anime.
