If you’re a Rocket League fan and a Nintendo Switch owner, there’s some good news in store for you. At the E3 2017, Psyonix announced during Nintendo’s turn at presenting that it will be launching a version of the sci-fi racing game on Nintendo’s gaming platform, the Nintendo Switch. Rocket League for the Nintendo Switch will start shipping at the end of this year.
Previously, Rocket League was available on a variety of platforms. Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One all had their version of the game and it was going a pretty damn well job. Now, seeing its rising popularity, Nintendo has decided to take on the game to its own console as well. The Rocket League version of the Nintendo Switch will have the same features as were present for in the PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions.
There will be a few tweaks to the content of the new game though. Nintendo is certainly trying to own Rocket League fully as it will also feature some of its own franchises in the game. This includes toppers that look like the caps of Mario and Luigi.
Rocket League for the Nintendo Switch will also have another unique feature that sets it a level apart from the other versions. In the Switch version of the game, players will have access to cross-network play along with local play between other Switch devices. There hasn’t been any official news to what platforms you’ll be able to play with but seeing how Microsoft was already trying to introduce Minecraft between Xbox One and Switch users, there may be reason to believe the cross-network play feature of Rocket League will have support for Microsoft’s Xbox One.
Are you one of those gamers who’ll be the first one to purchase Rocket League for the Nintendo Switch? Or will you stick to the existing versions? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!
