Previously, Nokia’s rumored flagship phone – Nokia 9 – was spotted with the 4GB RAM and the 8GB GB RAM on Geekbench and AnTuTu listings; now, the phone has been spotted on the Geekbench listing again, but this time it’s the Nokia 9 6GB RAM variant.
HMD Global, the company that now sells Nokia phones, has been keeping the whole project under wraps for a while and we have received no official announcement from the company itself about the possibility of the Nokia 9 even existing. The company has recently announced the release date of the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 on June 13th but as of yet, there have been no official news of the Nokia 9.
Luckily, we have the curious experts and internet researchers to find leaks and spot benchmark listings of the smartphone. The Nokia 9 6GB RAM variant was spotted on Geekbench just yesterday by NokiaPowerUser. The model was named, strangely enough, ‘Unknown Heart’ which is definitely a change from the previously named ‘HMD Global TA-1004/TA-102’.
The specs suggested in the Geekbench listing, apart from the Nokia 9 6GB RAM variant, are mostly similar to previous reports. The new smartphone apparently sports the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor chip clocked at 1.9 GHz; however, the listing doesn’t exactly mention the Snapdragon model. The Nokia 9 6GB RAM variant also will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Further, the listing indicates the phone will offer 5715 MB memory.
From previous reports, we also know this flagship smartphone by Nokia will sport a 5.5-inch, QHD resolution display. Along with the Qualcomm processor, the phone will also pack an Adreno 540 processor as its GPU. Since we’ve had 4 GB, 8 GB and 6 GB RAM variants of the Nokia 9 spotted now, it’s highly possible there will be three separate models of each, and 64 GB RAM internal memory. The smartphone will also feature a vertically placed dual-camera setup at the back that will feature a 13-MP camera. The front-facing or secondary camera is anticipated to be 13-MP as well. Leaks also suggested the phone will be IP68 Water and Dust Resistant.
There are certain things about the phone that have not been yet revealed – the battery, for example, is still a mystery, although we know from previous rumors that the phone will support Quick Charge 4.0. There have been guesses about the smartphone packing a 3800mAH battery but the news is not confirmed from any source. The phone last appeared in the EA Union Certification that indicated the phone will have two SIM variants as well; the Single SIM variant was named ‘TA-1004’, while the Dual SIM variant was called ‘TA-102’.
We’re still waiting for HMD Global to confirm the news of the existence of its flagship smartphone, let alone the Nokia 9 6GB RAM variant . If the news of the smartphone is true and the leaks and listing do mention accurate specs, then an incredible Nokia handset might be underway that might challenge big names like the Samsung S8 and OnePlus 5.
