Kirby is back at it again with his pink little body and strangely cute cannibalizing abilities, this time in the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo, during its presentation at the E3 2017 held in Los Angeles yesterday, announced a new Kirby game for their latest gaming console.
Oddly enough, but keeping up with its record this year, Nintendo didn’t reveal all the juicy details about their new game. Heck, the game doesn’t even have a proper title yet and we’re all just referring it to as simply ‘Kirby‘ (for the Nintendo Switch).
But let’s give Nintendo a little credit. Unlike literally no important reveals or gameplay footage of its games like the new RPG Pokemon, or Metroid Prime 4, this game actually had its time on screen. The short gameplay trailer of the new game tells us Nintendo is taking its side-scrolling approach yet again. The video also shows that Kirby will not only suck and devour enemies; the little critter can also convert enemies into allies now.
The gameplay footage further revealed that Kirby will take up different forms through the game, from Link from The Legend of Zelda to an unidentified ice queen and even a house maid.
Kirby will be playable in a multiplayer mode with up to 4 players. The gameplay video showed that with allies or other players, you can form a whirlwind type of attack to squash the enemies ahead – pretty cool, right?
As far as the release date of the game is concerned, Nintendo has made no promises but we can expect the new Kirby game to arrive next year in 2018.
