2016’s highest-rated and best-selling racing game, Forza Horizon 3, is coming back with a new title, new story, new platform, and altogether a new game. The new Forza game titled Forza Motorsport 7 was one of the headline news of E3 2017 yesterday.
It wasn’t only the gameplay that turned heads in the E3 conference; it was the 4K trailer that Microsoft showed to the world on its latest console, the Xbox One X. Not a lot of 4K games or footage was shown for the Xbox One X, but Forza Motorsport 7 had its place reserved. Impressive, cinematic graphics are the cornerstone for games in the racing genre, and now Forza Motorsport 7 is taking it up a notch, all tanks to the ForzaTech engine developed especially to support 4K footage.
The trailer showcased a plethora of new cars – retro vehicles, muscle cars, stock cars, Indy car, and trucks were featured, to name a few. Game developers, Turn 10, also explained that the new Forza 7 will include “the largest collection of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Porsches ever assembled” with over 700 cars. Forza Motorsport 7 will also feature new racing environments (about 30 in number) and more than 200 ribbons, and a lot of driver customization options via the race gear collection that the company said include “hundreds of options spanning decades of race history and pop culture.”

Forza Motorsport 7 will be available on both the Xbox One and PC and unfortunately not on the PlayStation 4 (courtesy of the Microsoft-Sony rivalry). The release date announced for the game at the E3 was October 3rd this year for both the Xbox One and the PC. Forza 7 will be getting its Xbox One X version soon enough once the console hits the market on November 7th.
