A lot of announcements at the E3 2017 held in Los Angeles surprised the audience and excited fans, but there was one game in particular that managed to bring the audience into tears – Beyond Good and Evil 2 by Ubisoft. After nine whole years, this sci-Fi game finally got its well-deserved sequel and we couldn’t be more excited.
During the time of the announcement, game developer Michel Ancel thanked everyone for sticking with the series since 2003 before displaying the official trailer of Beyond Good and Evil 2.
The game will feature a storyline set in a parallel universe called System 3 in the 24th century. Based in a multi-ethnic society, Beyond Good and Evil 2 will star the protagonist as a pirate who works with a team of heroes in the fight for freedom against multiple corporations that are ruling the system. The corporations enslave hybrids that they create in their science experiments and the team of pirates is on a mission to stop them.
Michel Ancel describes his new game as “massive, seamless online environment” with an open-universe, limitless navigation and gigantic cities. The game will also be available in a multiplayer online mode.

Analyzing the official trailer, we can’t really see how the gameplay of Beyond Good And Evil 2 will be like. The trailer breakdown video, however, lets us in on some important information: for one, the game’s prime focus will be on exploration within System 3 and beyond it. The environments will also be vertical and jetpacks and grappling hooks in the game will help maneuvering it.
The actual release date of Beyond Good and Evil 2 wasn’t made known but we can expect the game to hit markets in 2018, or at any rate in 2019. There hasn’t been word on the platforms the game will launch in either but seeing how the prequel, Beyond Good and Evil, was released on the PC, PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube back in 2003, we can expect the new game to be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
