The WWDC is live now and Apple is announcing one thing after the another and the biggest announcement so far has been the unveiling of the all-new iMac Pro! The feature-packed computer comes with heavy specifications and is being made especially to cater the professional community, like professional filmmakers, hardcore coders and more.
The expensive all-in-one workstation looks quite good in a dark grey finish, and although it may look a bit similar to the 5K iMac released in 2015, there’s a lot of things going on under the hood in terms of the specifications.
Apple iMac Pro Specs
Powerful doesn’t even begin to describe this machine as it comes with a Intel Xeon processor with up to 18 cores – there’s an iMac Pro with 8-core Intel Xeon processor, one with 10-core and the last with 18-core!
Apart from that, the computer has a AMD’s Radeon Vega GPU along with 16 GB of VRAM, and it will be capable of running 11 teraflops single precision and 22 teraflops half precision computation. The all-in-one workstation is capable of advanced graphics editing, VR content creation, hardcore programming as well as 3D rendering!
Moreover, the all-new iMac Pro, with a 27-inch Retina 5K display, comes with 128 GB of system RAM, 4 TB SSD, 4 USB 3 ports, 4 lightning ports, Ethernet and one port that looks likeheadphone jack!
John Ternus, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering, said “We’re thrilled to give developers and customers a sneak peek at iMac Pro. This will be our fastest and most powerful Mac ever, which brings workstation-class computing to iMac for the first time,” and added that “iMac Pro is a huge step forward and there’s never been anything like it.”
Apple iMac Pro Price
Seeing that it features the most powerful specs in the market right now, it surely is going to be quite expensive. The iMac Pro’s price starts at $4,999 for the base configuration and it rises from there.
The all-in-one workstation will start shipping in December!
