Samsung Galaxy S8 is one of the hottest smartphone of the year and is already decimating it’s competitors with all the features it has to offer. However, some users have been facing the red tint issue on the display of the smartphone, but now there’s a fix for it.
The flagship smartphone is yet to go on sale in India, but Samsung is rolling out a new software update that will take care of the red tint issue as soon as you get your hands on the device. The software update, with build number XXU1AQDG, has started rolling out for both Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in India.
Earlier, it was speculated that the red tint display issue was due to a hardware issue, but the company was quick to clarify that that wasn’t the case and it could be solved with a software update. Several users facing the issue reported that they were able to solve the issue by updating their smartphones.
According to SamMobile, the update is quite large in size considering that it only optimized the display’s color tone and has nothing else of significance. However, there may be performance updates and improvements hidden in the update that we don’t know yet. With this new update, the users will get “Full Screen Color Balance” option in the Adaptive Display Screen mode and also a “Screen Edge Color Balance” option in the Screen Mode menu.
Since the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are yet to go on sale in India, users can expect to get the latest software update as soon as they boot up their smartphones for the first time and complete the setup process.
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are priced at Rs. 57,900 (MOP) and Rs. 64,900 (MOP) respectively with multiple color options. The device will be available in India starting Friday, 5 May 2017!
