It’s a week now since the recent flagship device from South Korean giant, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ has been released in the US and now it is being rolled out to the other regions as well. Ever since it is being purchased in the US, the users are reporting random restarts of the device within the first a few hours of operation which they are finding it quite annoying.
In addition to it, WiFi issues, wireless charging difficulties and red tint on display are the problems which Samsung seriously needs to focus upon and immediately address to it.
Due to the worst period and scenario which Samsung had to face because of the Galaxy Note 7, this time the company has worked really hard with the batteries and performed rigorous battery testing just to make sure that it should not happen again. And, what we believe they have achieved their target in this regard as no complaint has been reported related to the battery so far.
But does this mean that they have overlooked other manufacturing and assembling areas of these smartphones? Well, at this point the company really needs to get onto its toes and instantly take actions to get all the issues fixed.
Gekidami exclaimed on Xda-developers, “I’m getting the same problem on my S8 standard. Randomly, the screen will have some artefacts appear (nearly always on the bottom) then it just restarts. Happens in safe mode too, so it doesn’t appear to be an app causing it. Phoned Samsung and they told me to send it back to the retailers and ask for a replacement.”
Going through other complaints, it is still unclear as what actually is causing this problem? Some say it is directly related to biometrics. It gets locked up if the fingerprint reader and the face recognition are enabled at the same time. Other says it has to do something with lock/AOD screen and power save. While some believe micro SD card is the main culprit.
Another user, Lazazy, said on Samsung’s forum, “So I picked up my Galaxy S8 and everything seems to be working well except the phone keeps restarting itself. I have had it for about 10 hours now, and it has already restarted 7 times while I was using it. It happens when I’m using an app like the camera or Samsung Themes, and it doesn’t matter if the phone is charging or not. All of a sudden the app freezes, the screen shuts off, and a few seconds later it restarts. Is anyone having the same problem or know of any solutions? If not, I will be going back to Sprint tomorrow.”
Well, it is a common practice after a launch of every phone that people do come in with their problems but Samsung reputation is at stake at the moment, and this time its potential users will start losing their confidence in this brand. The company needs to respond instantaneously to eliminate these issues and sustain the trust of its customers.
