Microsoft’s new console, the Xbox Project Scorpio, was announced at the Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3) last year. The company stated that the brand new console is set for a holiday 2017 release date, and many people speculated the console to launch by the end of summer 2017. However since the E3, Microsoft did not update on the new project until recently when an Xbox fan asked the head of Xbox, Phil Spencer on twitter about the release date schedule. Phil Spencer is quoted to have said: “Schedule looks very good right now, no issues.”

So buckle up, Xbox fans! The Project Scorpio will be hitting markets worldwide very, very soon. Although we don’t know exactly how the new Xbox console will look and how its design will be, we do know some incredible specs of the Xbox Scorpio that has gotten us pretty damn excited.
First and foremost, the Xbox Scorpio will have a 4k display (3840×2160 pixel resolution). 2017 has been the year for 4k, so it was fairly obvious that any latest console would harbor 4K. That means the graphics of our favorites games will seriously amp up and provide us a visual treat better than ever before.
The Xbox Scorpio will also have an extremely powerful processor – an eight custom x86 CPU cores clocked at 2.3 GHz. The six tera-flop graphics processing unit will feature 40 customized units clocked at 1172 GHz. The new console will also have an over 320 GB/s memory bandwidth. The hard drive will be 1 TB and will be two times faster and more powerful than the Xbox One.
The total memory of Xbox Project Scorpio console will be 12GB of GGDR5 RAM. Phil Spencer also confirmed that a new range of Xbox games are in progress. The Xbox Scorpio will also be able to play all of the previous Xbox games, so Microsoft hasn’t abandoned its previous consoles.
In recent news, Microsoft has also just announced the new Xbox Scorpio headset – LS35X wireless headset from LucidSound.
With specs like these, we naturally expect the new Xbox Scorpio to hit us right in the wallet. The exact price is yet to be revealed but there has been speculation that with the technology the new console is harnessing, the price could easily be around US $500. The big reveal is said to be due on June 11th at the E3 2017.
