OnePlus 5 has been one of the most talked about smartphones this past month and with good reasons. Its predecessors were extremely popular among customers, so it is natural that there will be high hopes for the new smartphone. There have been countless leaks and rumors regarding the device, and now it seems that the release date has been leaked as well bringing us closer to the official launch.
The internal email was leaked on Weibo and in the email, meant for the employees, the company outlines the publicity and advertising required for the device which is slated to launch on June 15.
Earlier this month, we talked that the flagship device is going to be launched this summer and there will be four possible color variants available to choose from. Jumping directly to OnePlus 5 and ditching the 4 moniker, the smartphone has been churning the rumor mills regularly.
Since there hasn’t been any official confirmation regarding any specifications of the smartphone, everything known about it is still speculation at this point. However, we do know for certain that OnePlus 5 will be powered by Snapdragon 835 processor, as confirmed by the company’s CEO a few days back.
There were even the sketches leaked of the smartphone that showed us what the design could look like. The device reportedly sports dual camera setup at the back, a metal edge and a Home button at the front that will likely house the fingerprint sensor as well.
We know that OnePlus 3T has been discontinued and is currently selling the remaining last few stocks. The phone, however, will be available in India until later this year and it seems that the time to launch a new flagship device, i.e. OnePlus 5, has arrived.
Coming to the specs of the device, it will be powered by Snapdragon 835 processor and will run on Android Nougat OS. The smartphone will sport a 5.5-inch QHD display (1440×2560 pixels) and will reportedly come with 8GB RAM and have 64GB internal storage which will be expandable via a microSD card (up to 128GB).
