LG G6 may have launched a while ago and is touted as the closest competitor to Samsung Galaxy S8; but there’s one glaring difference between the two smartphones and that is their chipsets. Samsung Galaxy S8 is powered by Snapdragon 835 processor, while the LG G6 is powered by Snapdragon 821 processor. However, it looks like things will change next year as LG is reportedly working with Qualcomm to bring Snapdragon 845 processor with LG G7.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset is likely going to be the successor of the latest Snapdragon 835 processor that is found inside smartphones like HTC U11, Samsung Galaxy S8 as well as Xiaomi Mi 6. However, according to Aju News, LG and Qualcomm started collaborating early in May to bring LG G7 with Snapdragon 845 chipset.
So far, there is not much information regarding the smartphone or the processor, but apparently the Snapdragon 845 processor could be 30% more powerful than the Snapdragon 835 processor. If this turns out to be true, LG G7 will become one of the best smartphones next year.
There isn’t much news related to LG G7 as well because it won’t be releasing any time soon and will likely be launched next year.
This isn’t the first news regarding Snapdragon 845 processor to hit the Internet as there were reports that Samsung has been working with Qualcomm to produce the same chipset for their upcoming Galaxy S9 smartphone. It’s obviously unclear as which smartphone will be the first one to feature the chipset; but our bets are on the LG G7.
