Battle Bay is the latest game launched by Rovio, the company behind the hugely popular Angry Birds franchise, and this time the gameplay is a lot different that what we’re used to. Instead of taking the birds to the sky, this time we take the characters to the sea and face-off against real players in real-time battles.
The game had a soft launch in certain regions; but on Wednesday, it was officially launched worldwide on both Android and iOS platforms and can be downloaded from their respective app stores.
The game play is pretty simple – you have to choose a ship, add some weapons to it and sail on the seas with your fleet of teammates and fight off against your competitors in a five-on-five real time battles. The game offers a number of ships to choose from – “Choose between different classes of ships, each with their own speciality – the Enforcer packs a powerful offensive punch, the Defender is a nearly indestructible floating tank, the Shooter can equip more weapons than you will ever need, the Speeder is… speedy, and the Fixer keeps your teammates floating”, the company says in the description on Google Play Store.
With a number of weapons at your disposal as well various items, armors and abilities, you can easily take on strong opponents without any worries. Moreover, you can even level up your ships to increase its defense, speed and firepower.
Since Battle Bay features a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) style gameplay, you can get strategic with your teammates and mount a full-on offensive assault or play defense to capture the point. There is even a chat option available in the game so that you can talk with your teammates and share ways to take down your opponents.
